Where to stay on the way to Orlando?

We come from the south but I thought I pass on what we do. We always find a Holiday Inn Express. Usually the hotels are new and they all have continental breakfasts. Their spreads vary(give or take a few things) depending on the size of the hotel but we have not been disappointed yet. It saves money and hassle of having to leave your hotel to go eat somewhere else or the hassle of bringing your own food for 1 meal, especially if kids are in tow. HTH

ITA with Jessiesue...we also like HI Express. Their breakfasts have been pretty consistant in the several that we have stayed in across the country. Also, when you check the HI website to find locations, you can see if they are rated Excellent (best) or Commendable (good); this appears to be a quality designation within the company, and we have never been disappointed with an HI Express that was well rated (and we look for them!).

We just returned from our WDW trip. On the way down, we stayed in Valdosta at a GuestHouse Inn & Suites. Don't stay there... it was dirty, the water faucet didn't work right, the sheets were on wrong and they charged more than their advertised rate.
On the way back home, we stayed in Macon at a Days Inn. It was decent, frig and microwave in room...$49 a night. There were also several other hotels at that same exit. No particular reason we chose the Days Inn.
