DD is 6 and DS will be 9 months when we are thinking about going. We have taken DD every year since she was 3. We were going to put off this years trip until DS was older but he is so well behaved that we have decided to go. We most of the time when we are out places he is content to just sit in the stroller and look around. This way we can still get our Dis fix and besides DD was pretty upset ovr the idea of missing out on a year.

We have always stayed at Port Orleans and I am wondering where other people have stayed with a child under 1. Is it worth the extra 1000 dollars to stay at Ft Wilderness in a cabin? My concern is the baby waking up in the middle of the night and crying in a hotel room. I don't want to be inconsiderate to the other guests. The other problem is an afforability issue and if we can afford the extra money to stay at fort wilderness.

Anway, just wanted to see what other parents had to say about this.

We have stayed at CBR and a 1 bedroom at SSR. CBR is just like a typical hotel - you can hear babies crying in the next room or above/below you. But we heard the same thing at SSR. There must have been a baby in the room below is. The mom was apparently trying to console him in the bathroom (In the middle of the night) because that's where I could hear the crying, in the bathroom. It honestly sounded like the noise was coming up through the pipes. Weid, I know. So I know you're trying to be considerate of others, but short of your own cabin, there's no guarantee your child won't be heard in the next room. But we've all been there at one point or another.

You could rent points from a DVC member to stay at a DVC resort for the amenities of a kitchen, etc. It could save you quite a bit over paying in a regular reservation. It was nice to have the full kitchen in the 1 bdr at SSR when we went with DS at 6 months.

Maybe it is just me, but babies cry....so do 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 year olds....and babies and kids go to WDW..crying comes with it. You should do what you can do, as any parent should, to be considerate when your baby cries, but if he's in your room and it happens, that is life and your neighbors should (and probably will) know that! The only time I really heard a baby crying was at ASMo, but the walls there are paper thin....I heard the parents talking loudly, too!

I would really investigate renting points if I were you. Take a stroll over to the DVC board to see what you can come up with! Good luck!
