Where to stay just past DC? In Orlando?

We're driving to WDW a week from today, the plan is to leave after dinner (from north/central NJ) and drive just until we get past DC, figuring we'll be going thru DC just before 11PMish. Then we'll stop for the night somewhere and put in a full day the following day, arriving in Orlando Tuesday night. We don't check in to the Poly until Wednesday.

So the first question is, any advice on what hotel to stay at once we get past DC, should we stay in the Alexandria area, Woodbridge area, ? Any recommendations on a decent clean motel/hotel?

Second question, any recommendations on where to stay once we get to Orlando? I was thinking of seeing if any DTD hotels had availability once we got down there, dh wants to stay a little further out.

About an hour south of DC (Fredericksburg, VA) there are 2 very nice, CLEAN hotels in the Central Park complex. the Hilton Garden Inn and the Holiday Inn Select. I have done business w/ and stayed at both. www.centralparktoday.com Tons of retail and RESTURANTS in area also. Easy Access... just off I 95.

I would try to get past Fredericksburg. From there to DC can be horrible traffic most anytime. There is a HI Express at the Thornburg Exit (118) or 10 minutes further south @ Exit 104.... Comfort Suites, Red Roof Inn, Days Inn HI Express, Howard Johnson, Travelodge. These are approx. 45 minutes south of Woodbridge.
