Where to stay in Port Car

Trying to plan a last minute cruise. We will be flying into orlando, where do you recommend to stay the night prior to the cruise? Do you recommend flying in the night before or day of cruise? Last cruise we took was a 45 min drive from my house! So nice! Thanks!

I would stay at MCO Hyatt or at coco beach, now in the Sticky DCL FAQ A>Z above there is a link for Port canaveral. It's very good.

Depends a lot on where you are flying from. We are coming from the west coast so always fly at least 1 day before. I like to stay out by the airport the night before and then hire a shuttle service to take us to the ship in the morning.

We like to stay the night before the cruise in Port Canaveral at the Marriott Residence Inn. Lovely place to stay.

if we can't fly in the morning of or if we are coming in a few days ahead we like to spend the night at disney. it starts the vacation out nicely. we do dtd for dinner the night before and use their transportation so its really easy. we did rent a car once and drove ourselves (not to my liking) and we have had car service several times however i like to go with their bus service.
having said that, lots of people don't like to use their service from wdw because you get to the port a bit later than you do by other forms of transportation. to me, to lose an hour on the ship or walk on board with no crowds….no comparison. but again, only my thoughts. not everyones.

We don't like to risk being late or miss port because of weather and or flight issues etc. Anything can happen. Usually we stay a night or two nights before in Cocoa Beach, at the Raddison or Ron Jons! Both are great!

At least 24 hours before, if possible. Gives the airlines time to work out minor problems without you missing your sailing.

Definitely fly in the day before!!!! We use DCL transport and a "participating airline". We have stayed at AS Sports before. We will be staying at MCO Hyatt next time.
