Heading down to WDW for a quick trip in the beginning of Dec. Where would you recommend to stay? SSR is our home resort and we love OKW. However, we stayed at SSR last Thanksgiving and are planning on staying at OKW for a trip in March.

Should we stick with what we like at OKW or try something different? Possibly VWL for the xmas decorations?

Try BWV you will love the place. If not then just stay at SSR again.

Why not try something new?

Go for VWL and if it's full, get on the wait list. Then see what you can get confirmed at BWV, OKW, or SSR. Get that confirmed and if you can get VWL... go for it!

Might as well stay at all of them at least once. :teeth:

I'd recommend either of the Epcot resorts. So many things are happening in Epcot for the Christmas season-CP, Holiday Storytellers, Tree-lighting ceremony. And you're within a walk (or boat if you prefer) of MGM to see the Osborne Lights. So try for BWV or (my fave) BCV.

I've been on the witlist for months for a studio.I would leave your options open and see what you can get. They're all great, really. Good luck.

I recommend you take anything you can get. I would be surprised if BCV, BWV, or VWL have openings at this point.

You didn't say what size unit you're looking for. Studios are probably most in demand, 1BRs probably most availability. I suggest asking MS to check availability at all five resorts for the dates and unit you are looking for. Then you can decide. I'd say take VWL if you get lucky if only because it's the hardest to get in Dec -- it may be a while before you get another chance at it.

Just booked it. I was able to get BWV with a garden/pool view. I put myself on the waitlist for VWL. Apparently, 2 out of the 3 nights were unavailable. They asked if I wanted to be put on the waitlist for the boardwalk view at BWV, but I said no. I thought it would be loud and with a DD4 and DS1 thought they might have trouble sleeping. Has anyone had this experience? Is it loud there? Can you see Illuminations from BWV boardwalk view?

Also, what are people's experiences with getting your waitlist request? Am I hoping against hope for VWL?

Our dates are Dec. 11-14 in a one bedroom.

We called this June at the 7 month "window" to change from BCV (our home resort) to VWL. Four days of our eight day stay were available (12/24- 12/27), so we took them and waitlisted for the other four. Received a call from MS last Thursday (7/14) that our four waitlisted days (12/28-12/31) were available (checking out on New Year's Day). We were flabbergasted and thrilled to get an 8-night stay at VWL. Just lucky maybe? Stayed there last year for four nights (12/24-12/27) without waitlisting, and we didn't call until the end of July. MS was amazed as we were that something was available at 6 months. Not taking anymore chances though - we recently bought two 100 point VWL contracts resale from Disney two weeks ago. Good luck!
