Picture it....
It's the end of Jan2005...
We've already been in Orlando for two weeks - renting a house with the REST of the family...
Gosh, I love them, but by this point I NEED A BREAK!!:)
And they have all left...
it's now Sunday, and we (DH and our two Disneyholic 6 yr old twins!!) have until Thursday...

Where would you stay?
We'll have AP's, have been to the Polynesian, BCV,OKW,ASM on previous trips. We like a few hours in the parks in the am...back to the pool, and a lovely supper out...

We're DVC members, but are a-ok with "trying somewhere new"

My brain just can't decide!!

since its not going to be a huge priority to do the parks commando style.. i'd pick the AKL.

simply because it has a decent pool and its someplace that i've read you need to stay at just once. with your pts maybe you can get a savannah view for a good price.

2nd choice would be BW... simply because its so close to so much.. For dinners and stuff to do non-park, it sounds the best to me. also.. you can walk to Epcot for dinner there.

just my thoughts.. let us know what you decide!

I'd try to find some DVC points to stay at the Villas of Wilderness Lodge or Boardwalk. With the time of year and a Sunday through Thursday stay, I don't think it would be very many points.

WL! With the weather possibly being too cool to swim, you would be somewhat limited at AKL. WL is very relaxing, just far enough, but not too far from the magic. You could go over to a park, swim or rent surrey bikes to FW, or have dinner at the lodge. Chef Mickey's or FW by boat. 2 weeks in a house with a bunch of people does not sound like a vacation to me-it sounds like I'd be cleaning up constatnly after a bunch of people. That is why I REFUSE to vacation in any type of place that has a kitchen, UGH-just not for me.

Yup! I would stay at WL. You can get a room with bunkbeds for the kids! No bed "fighting" to listen to!!

Beach Club! Knowing the trials and tribulations that you have just endured -the gods will look kindly upon you - grant you an unusually warm end of January and your twins (and you) will LOVE Stormalong Bay. You will also want to take advantage of a lovely dinner at The Yachtsman Steakhouse (the kids are welcome and will be treated great) - go ahead splurge, treat yourself to a huge steak, and a great bottle of wine - YOU DESERVE IT!

Here's what I'm thinking....

DH and I go to the Grand Floridian...call Kindercare and heavily bribe them to take my kids to stay at POP!!!;);)

What....you don't think that would be a good idea...????

Seriously, I never thought of the "hotel" part of WL...the bunk beds idea would be great...but AKL is wonderful too...BUT, SAB is the kids absolute all-time favourite...

Here I go again...I think I just need to give my credit card to someone, have them book it, and let it be a surprise!!!:teeth:

Anyone up for the challenge?????;);)

Which is why I've already booked maid service!!!:):)

DH just laughs when I say...
"How do you spell vacation??? Daily Housekeeping!!!"

you'll need to pick a relaxing resort after time with family and IMHO the most relaxing resort is the Polynesian. The soothing Hawaiin music (it can even be heard underwater at the Volcano pool), the lush tropical surroundings, outstanding service....not to mention the Tambu Lounge. Two words: Lapu Lapu.

Can't be beat for a relaxing stay!

My second choice would be the YC/BC. Very nice. Love the Epcot Resort area.

It depends on how much $$ you want to spend. If this is not an issue, then why not try the Wilderness Lodge Villas. If you can't get the Villas, then try the Lodge and get a room with bunk beds in them.

Another option would be to go back to the Polynesian.

Both are great places to stay.
