Hi,

We were planning to visit Disneyland in December and had reservation confirmed at Howard Johnson. My husband's company is requiring everyone to take three days off next week and with my birthday coming up on 8/13, we decided to take the kids to Disneyland for four days arriving on 8/12/09.

I called Howard Johnson but unfortuantely they are all booked! Now, we have to look for another place to stay. I'm thinking Carousel Inn, maybe? I'd really appreciate if people can share their opinion and recommendation on walking distance hotel/motels.

Thank you so much!

Carousel Inn is across the street never stayed there but stayed at the best western park place inn a couple hotel down and that is a great hotle and is across the cross walk is right in front of the hotel closer then the Carousel Inn only a few feet but makes a differnce after along night also free parking is a perk!

Good luck. I agree with the above poster. I would start call eveything on harbour and see what they have.

fairfield inn has rooms, 109 a night if you pay ahead of time. I just checked. its down closer to the park then hojo's and has wonderful reviews to!

We're staying at the Carousel Inn starting on the 14th, so I vote for there :goodvibes I've never stayed there before though so I can't yet offer a review.

We liked the Candy Cane Inn. It's close enough to DLR to walk easily but they also have a free shuttle every 30 min. and they have a free breakfast. (they have free parking too!)

If you have a car, I would check out the Hampton Inn and the Hilton. We are going in November and both of these nicer motels are cheaper (by almost $200) than all the cheaper ones across the street. The Hampton and Hilton also have a breakfast.

Thank you so much everyone for the response. My husband and I decided on Candy Cane Inn after looking at the Trip Advisor reviews. We are so excited!!! Now I just need to buy my hopper tickets and try to make priority seating arrangements. :)

You won't be disappointed! It's a cute little hotel, the staff was very friendly and having the option to walk or use a shuttle is great. The breakfast, while nothing fancy, is very good for that type of free breakfast. They even had 3-4 different flavors of cream cheese available.

I stayed at the Candy Cane Inn last December for a week and my husband and I really liked it! It's close to the parks, has a free shuttle, and a good (albeit very crowded) breakfast. Have fun!
