Where to stay... Help us find a Good Neighbor Hotel, please!

Park Vue has also had bed bug issues (look up BlackJackDelta's review from several years ago). But really, any hotel, including the on site hotels, can have bed bugs. With all the international visitors going in and out of all the hotels in the DLR area, bed bug problems are inevitable. How a hotel deals with the problem is another issue, though. We check our room first thing, leave luggage in the bathroom (so we don't pick up any hitchhikers during room inspection), and request another if we find any hints that the room isn't clean. So far, that routine has been good for us.

The Park Vue Inn didn't have bed bugs when I went earlier this year. At least I hope not! :scared:

What happens when you take the Toy Story parking lot bus? Do you have to park there or pay? Where does it drop you off?

You CAN park there which is the same cost as Mickey and Friends unless you have an AP that includes parking.
However you ARE NOT REQUIRED to park there to take the buses. There is a pedestrian walkway that leads to the area or follow the CM/ crowds.

It drops you off close to the esplanade where all the ART and hotel shuttles drop off/pickup.
To take the shuttle BACK stay to the right hand side , unless the line is wrapped.

I just remembered that they have signs for these buses, right? It's like a bus loop there, lol. :rotfl2:
:thanks: for soooo much information!

Look at the Candy Cane Inn or the Fairfield Inn.

We have had family stay at both and each had positive things to say about each and they are both within walking distance to the parks.

Honestly, very few ever mention it on here, but we've always stayed at the Red Lion in between the IHOP on Harbor & Katella and the Toy Story lot, save for the one time we stayed at Paradise Pier. We've stayed there three times (staying there again in February, too) and other than the one time the maid skipped our room, I have no complaints. There isn't a free breakfast, but they have a breakfast buffet if you want to pay for it. Honestly, that's not important to us as we like to eat snacks and get in line in the esplanade instead of sitting down for breakfast that early. The parking lot there is secured with gates and there are never people wandering through it or anything. You do have to pay for parking, but given the safe-ish feeling of the lot, we're cool with it.
