where to stay for the weekend to save $$$$

Also,
If I rent points from someone...I
Is there a chance that someone could want to get rid of their DVC Points at a discounted rate to actually make it economical on a Friday and Saturday or are the chances of that slim to none?
:confused3

If you stay Pop you could forego the DDP for those 2 days - that way you could compare what is better for you in terms of dining options!! Pop has a great bus system, a good food court (sometimes the lines at the Moderates can be longer, as well as sometimes the bus can take longer)

thanks for all the input! we will probably go for the POP

now if I could only get one of those 40% off codes then that would be a real bargain!!!

We've stayed at Pop 4x, and used Priceline at the Resort level (Gaylord Palms and Omni Champions-gate), and also Cypress Pointe (though now you have to book 3 nights thru Hotel Kingdom).

I have a Annual Pass for Universal Studios, Get a AP discount for Royal Pacific or Portifino Bay. Both are great properties! I have never stayed at Hard Rock.

We stay at moderate or value Disney Resorts, off property just doesn't do it for us! Happy planning.

Speaking of the codes...have any DVC members on here ever gotten the 40% off e-mails or postcards? We like to stay at POR on the week-end before going to the DVC. We use annual pass discount when one is available, but just wondering if DVC'ers ever get the e-mails or postcards.:confused3

We got one yesterday in the mail. :) I needed a Saturday night in March and the Annual Pass discount was too high - over $200 for a moderate - no thanks. But with the 40% off post card it was $134.00 and some odd cents. So I booked a night, otherwise, we would have stayed at one of the Marriott hotels for around $100.00 with AAA or our Marriott Rewards Account. I about passed out when I saw Disney wanted $145.00 with tax for a value for Saturday night with an Annual Pass rate:faint:
