Now that POR isn't included in the free dining offer. where do you suggest that a family of 5 stay? 2 adults and 3 kids? so bummed. trying to keep the trip at about 5K. that's what we did w/the flight, deluxe dining and a week at POR w/the hopper. BTW, doesn't have to be hopper passes for this trip btw. As always, thanks for your help!!!

I think you would have to look into the AOA family suites or the Cabins at Ft. wilderness? I'm not certain, as we have not had to face this yet...(we have #3 as a baby now!) but I thought someone once told me that some of the Deluxe resorts will let you have 5 in a standard room. Good luck! I know it really stinks that POR is not on the list right now.

so so sad/bummed about POR.

So last time we got the FD for going in DEC and staying at POR. We paid the difference to get the Deluxe dinning. how would that work if we stay at AOA since it's not a mod? do we just still pay the price difference and can still get deluxe?

You'd pay the difference between the QSDP and DXDP.

Sorry but not sure if this would help but why not get two rooms at pop century. Not sure what they run per night but it would have to be cheaper than a suite at aoa.

I don't think that would be cheaper but you can go to disneyworld.com and price it out. 2 in 1 room and 3 in the other and don't add dining.

Add the cost of the upgrade from quick service to deluxe.

The Deluxe Disney Dining Plan upgrade cost from the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan is $67.54 per adult and $13.83 per child per night.

We have 3 adults and 2 kids at Boardwalk Inn for $4848 plus flights, free dining. No park hoppers. Add the upgrade to deluxe meal and you will be over, but this is better for our family rather than 2 rooms at value. We really don't have much interest in the values, and we're bummed when POR was excluded.

so the $4848 price includes your flights for the 5 of you? what are the kids ages? and when are you going? Thanks so much!

We are in the same boat...family of 5, 2 adults and 3 "Disney" adults, 12, 11 and 10. We are doing a split trip with US/IOA but staying at Disney property the whole time.....so since POR is out, 7 nights, we booked two rooms at POP, 4 day park hopper and upgraded the dining plan for a grand total of $4344.80. Kind of a bummer b/c POR would have been $3431.09. We were trying to stay below the $4k mark, so we got as close as possible with that choice.

We priced out Allstar Sports, The Cabins, BCR, AoA and CSR. Allstar Sports came out as the cheapest alternative at $4198.51, however, with the direct buses at POP, we decided to pay the extra $200 for that. Wilderness Cabins was next at $4241.13, but I didn't read good things on the transportation and being so far away from everything, especially around its own resort area. Pricing the deluxe resorts were getting us near the $5k mark, starting at $4751 for BCR - and we haven't added our US/IOA tickets yet - so we were not interested.

It just becomes a hard pill to swallow knowing how much POR is and not having to stay at a value when we all would have fit in one room. However, we are getting excited about all the space with two rooms, though! The kids will be thrilled with having their "own room." Room bathrooms, two frigs, more space....we're thinking positive!!

Good luck.

No, the $4848 is just room and tickets. However, we have 3 adults so you can take $175 out of that if your kids are younger because there is a premium on extra adult a above 2. So, our kids ages are 10 and 6. If you price that one out, it might work for you.

We are going 9/-9/14, flying Frontier out of Harrisburg, PA for about $144 per person round trip.

We're in the same boat, 2 adults and 3 kids that normally stay at POR. We booked two adjoining rooms at All Star Sports for 5 nights in late October, and with Park Hoppers it came to $3,500. I've never stayed at the All Star resorts, but I'd stay in the trunk of someone's car if necessary to be on property.

We are trying to figure out the same thing. We are already booked at POR for the 5 of us.

Seems like it is cheaper to stay there and pay for dining than it is to move to a deluxe. :( We contemplated moving to Polynesian but their pool will be closed when we are there so why bother.

I just went ahead and bit the bullet...Our Fab 5 LOVES POR, but, we'll see if they'll "make do" at Wilderness Lodge Villas. Having the "kitchenette" will help us, as my son rarely eats ANYTHING in the parks...(but loves his Spaghetti-OOOOs!) :thumbsup2
More than I'm used to spending, so I trimmed a day off of WDW, and will probably do the same on the USO segment of the trip.
Art of Animation was very tempting, but the bus challenges concern us.

Time to crank out a few "side-jobs" to pay-off the balance!!!

Hopefully if anyone else knows better, they'll tell you, but i have always had to book one room first and then book the second (not exactly 2at once) I believe there's a step near the end where you can link 2 reservations. You would do this on the second room, once you have the first res # in hand. You'll have to put one adult in each room and pay 2 $200 deposits.

I find it easier to just call, although I still had to pay $200 per room and get different reservation numbers per room.
