Where to stay at SSR (to be close to Downtown Disney)?

Just wondering what to request at SSR to be near Downtown Disney. I think we would enjoy walking there in the evenings or to eat.

The Congress Park section provides the best access to Downtown Disney, but none of the sections are an overwhelming walk. The resort is really not as spread out as some have made it seem, IMHO (and, for the record, I don't own at SSR). My parents (67 and 75 yo) and I had no problem walking at the resort and we walked to and from just about every section in very short periods of time.

I agree. There are a lot of buildings, but they are all positioned to have easy access to DTD.

I also agree Congress Park is the nearest but IMO none are more than a 15min stroll

Don't forget there is also a boat that will take you to DTD too.

We walked to DTD following the path out of the Springs. When we walked back we just headed straight out of DTD to the entrance to SSR. It was a much closer walk to the Paddocks where we were staying.

We stayed in the furthest building in Congress Park. From our room to the Marketplace bus stop was a 5 min walk.
