I think POFQ would work pretty well for your group. It's by far the smallest resort at WDW, has only one bus stop, and the price can't be beat. POFQ busses sometimes go straight to the parks and sometimes stop at POR, but the POFQ is the first stop for pick up and drop-off when getting to/from the parks.
There isn't a sit-down restaurant at POFQ, but you can walk over to POR for their sit-down restaurant (leisurely 10 minute walk on a paved path along the river) or, in the evenings, you can take a boat shuttle directly from POFQ to Downtown Disney where there are many restaurants and shops.
Ask for the AAA rate -- it often saves enough money to make it worthwhile to get a AAA membership just for the room discount. Also, consider http://www.ticketmania.com for discounted tickets.
