Does any one have any idea if we can purchase the Disney bands if we are staying off resort for the week? I am taking grandsons down for a week and it would be so much easier than making sure we don't lose our cards. Also would be pretty neat souvenir for them as well.
Hope someone can help me
Thanks

Great thanks I found them on disney site. Thank you for the help
You're not able to order them and have them delivered to Canada BTW if that's what you're planning on doing. There have been all kinds of rumours as the whys behind this but I joke that it's because they don't have passports :P Even if you're staying on-site and order them as part of your stay you would still need to pick them up at the front desk.

Have a great trip with your family

Def agree with just buying them in the first WDW gift store onsite esp if not fussy about a certain pattern. Much easier and less stress.

If for some reason you absolutely need them before your trip, you can buy them on shopdisney, have them delivered to a US address using a crossborder service (eg. crossborderpickups.ca), who can then deliver them to you. If you have relatives or friends in the US, you could go that route as well.

I just purchased on Ebay for everyone in party. I just hope we get them before we go. I am a worry wart about having everything organized for trips. This way I can have the young grandsons decorate theirs in way down for the plane lol. Keep them busy. Next silly question is I understand they can be made smaller for small wristed people any videos out there too show how to do this? So I don't break them before I use them.

Did the eBay listing indicate that the bands are unused and can be linked to your MyDisneyExperience account?

Yes I double checked just now again and everything states NIP and ready to be linked. What would happen if not new?

Hi
My understanding of this is:

Can previously linked Magic Bands be sold?

No. Your MagicBand or card is unique to you and only you are authorized to access the benefits associated with it—including linked tickets, touch-to-pay purchases and other entitlements. Once a MagicBand or card is linked to your Disney account, it cannot be transferred to another person.
So just so long as they are new in package and never been link you should be ok,

Keep in mind they have a battery and do expire.
How long do Magic Band Batteries last?
about 2 years

"That being said, I have more MagicBands than I could ever wear; we even have a wreath of MagicBands hanging on the wall of our home. It is perfectly acceptable to reuse an old MagicBand on your next trip. The official word from Walt Disney World is that the battery life of a band is expected to be about 2 years."

Agree with bababear_50. Once linked, they cannot be transferred.

Keep in mind that even if the battery is dead, they can still be used for anything that requires tapping...eg. room key, paying for purchases, entering the park, and Lightning Lane. The only thing that no longer works is anything that requires long-range RFID such as automatic pictures on certain rides, or the announcement of your name at the end of "It's a Small World" attraction

Yes I figured not transferable and purchased different colors for each person so we can tell apart. Now next silly question do I have to be careful they don't fall or come off little people's wrists?

I've lost a few on rides ,,,but I tend to wear mine loose ,,sensitive skin.

I went to a guest relations and with a new bought one and had it activated (linked). They deactivated (unlinked) the old one.

I find sliders tend to make them less likely to fall off.

I would buy bitbelts for peace of mind. Our last trip, we were waiting in line at 50's Prime Time and another family waiting were discussing their lost MagicBand. We had just found a MagicBand leaving an attraction and handed it in to a CM. Turns out theirs was the same colour as the one we found, so we told them where they could find it. I think they can easily come off without you knowing if you're distracted.

So now I will just let everyone buy at disneysprings the holders in whatever style they want. That will give me peace of mind as well. Too expensive too lose

In 8 trips since the advent of Magic Bands, I have only lost 1. …and that was 2 hours after first wearing it 🤦‍♀️ At least it was a free one I got with on-site stay.

For one family trip, since I have AP, my treat was I bought everyone a MB of their choice. It’s a great souvenir.
