Where to park to resort hop?

I'm sure this has been addressed before.

We are planning on a day of resort hopping but we will not be staying onsite. How can this be done? Can we park at one of the resorts and then hop around? Do we have to move our car through each resort? Can we park at one of the parks and just use Disney transportation?

How do you guys do it when not staying onsite?

I don't think that you can park at a resort for more than a few hours (3?) unless you are a resort guest.

You can park at a park or at the TTC, and just use Disney transportation to go from park to park.

Try posting at the Theme Park Attraction and Strategies or the Transportation board. You might find some insight or some better ideas. (For example, I think that I read that it is best to park at the park where you will end your day, but please confirm that! I'm sure that you can find more insight.)

Well thats the thing. We won't be going to the parks that day...we just want to check out the resorts.

We went to DTD, and took the first monorail bus that came along. It was the CR. Took the monorail to the GF and the Poly then hopped the TTC monorail to Epcot. I love riding thru the park! Got off at Epcot, and took the bus to Port Orleans for beignets, and then took the boat back to DTD.

We had the best time. Pin traded all along the way!

I agree that DTD is the place to park if you want to hop the monorail resorts. You can also park at the Boardwalk (3 hour limit, I think) and walk between Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk/Swan/Dolphin. That could be fun to do and have dinner at one of those locations and stay to watch the Epcot fireworks from there.

For the other resorts, it would take so long to take the bus to the resort and then to a transfer point and then to the next resort that I would think it would be a lot easier to just drive between the resorts yourself.
