On our upcoming trip, my mom will be using an ECV for the first time. Her cancer and chemotherapy have left her with very little stamina and she is prone to periods of lightheadedness, although she can walk for short distances. Are there designated places for her to park the ECV outside shows, rides, and restaurants? Would it make more sense for her to just stay in the ECV for these? We are renting it from an outside vendor and she is also concerned that someone might take it. Please share any advice you have with this so I can reduce her anxiety level about the trip! It's my sister's wedding celebration, so she wants to participate as much as she's able. Thanks!

you can always ask the CM what to do some you do have to park it some you do not. I would just take the key with you no one will steel it then

This shows what newbies we are to this--didn't know they had keys :) Good point!

It's best to ask. They will either tell you where to park or that you can take your scooter into the queue and park it close to the front. If you choose to park it outside the ride, they may move it, so don't panic if you don't see it exactly where you left it. Just look around, it's not far away. There's a little switch on the back that they can flip to roll the scooter, so you don't need to leave your key.

Most rides she can stay on the ECV until loading. The ECV can be driven into a restaurant, rider transfer to chair, someone else parks it. I always have an straight poncho to cover the ECV.

For most places, the general rule for parking outside rides is to park in the stroller parking area. If you park it elsewhere, they may move it over to the stroller parking (so look there if you come back and it's been moved!!).

For most restaurants I would park outside of the place. Just don't park where traffic will be hectic. I wouldn't want to maneuver a scooter in a restaurant.

I would take the scooter in as many ride queues as you can. There can be waits in line and you want her to be on a scooter. They are parked near the ride. In some cases the scooter may be moved to the end of the ride if it's not a ride that loops. A few rides won't allow scooters, but they should have a lender wheelchair you can use.

For shows, you can stay on the scooter, but you will be in a designated area. You will be in the same area as the wheelchairs.

Most shows and ride queues, she can take it with her. If she can't, or if she chooses not to, most of the time she can park it in the same place as strollers. Whatever the situation, the CM outside the ride, show, or restaurant can advise her where to park. And yes, make sure to bring the key and any valuables with you!

There are some queues, like Pirates of the Caribbean, where an ECV won't fit through but a manual wheelchair will. In those cases, they generally have manual wheelchairs there you can borrow to go through the line in.
