Hello!

Where are the quiet places to rest or nap our daughter in Ak or MK?

Also is there any healthy food for a 19 month old to eat?

Thanks

We went back to our room for a nap every day around noon. It seems boring, but we actually all wound up taking a nap and it was nice to relax and get out of the heat. My kids would not nap in a stroller even if we found a quiet place. They hardly ever even fall asleep in the car. The breaks were also nice because we only ever spent a few hours at a time in a park, so the kids never got overly tired, over-stimulated, or whiney.

We brought snacks into the parks with us: carrots, apples, nuts, fruit leather, pretzels. We weren't overly concerned with the kids eating as healthfully as they do at home, but it was nice to be able to just grab a snack out of our bag whenever they seemed a little hungry (especially in lines or waiting for something). We also brought water in hydration backpacks, so they just sipped on that throughout the day and we refilled them for free at any of the CS restaurants. We kept milk and juice in the room.

We also went back to the room to nap. My DD was never one to sleep in a stroller.

But as for healthy snacks, I was very impressed of the changes that Disney has been making to add healthy snacks. At most carts, you will now find Fruit Cup that have Cantalope, Honeydew, watermelon and grapes. THe only issue was there were no plastic knive to cut the fruit up, so we started carry them. Also, we were able to get yogurt at most counter service meals. Also, it we went to a buffet for breakfast or lunch we would grab an extra banana or apple to take with us.

We also brought a bunch of our own snacks into the park- Cheerios, Goldfish etc. We also got my daughter a "special" water bottle that she had in her hands at all times in the stroller so she could drink. We also carried it on most rides if the lines were long. This way she stayed hydrated (we were there in august)

My DS usually fell asleep right after breakfast everyday and would nap in his stroller while sitting with my mother near the ride exists. There is a little bench area near Pirates that's shady and one near Splash Mt. There are lots of benches in Tommorowland but none really seemed shaded so we sat in the stroller parking area while some of the group went on Space Mt.

In AK he slept at the exit to Dinosaur as it was shady and covered. Also in the gift shop of EE.

We also went back to the room most days. DH and I needed the afternoon nap more than DS! :rotfl:

My DS would usually get tired for his nap around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. We would usually stay at the parks cause he picked up on napping in his stroller pretty quick. Were were lucky in that we had my parents with us and my mom liked a bit of a relax period in the afternoon anyway. Usually she would take DS in the stoller into a quite area, or even into a restaurant so she could have a cup of tea or a piece of dessert while she was there. Even the TS restaurants would usually let her bring a stroller in as they were not busy at that time. She would just sit and enjoy her snack and cup of tea while DS napped.

Stroller nappers here just walked around from ride to ride taking turns while one slept, or went through stores, TTA is also great for a nice breezy relaxing stop

Our DD is 6, so it's been over a year since she napped at WDW. She used to do it all the time, though - only an hour or so as she got older, but she didn't usually have a huge problem falling asleep in the stroller anytime.

In the MK, we often sat at either El Pirate y El Perrico or the Tomorrowland Terrace while my DD slept in the stroller. We'd walk her around until she fell asleep, then we'd get a cold drink and settle down in a quiet, coolish (or at least shady) area for her to nap. Tomorrowland Terrace is air conditioned, so it was nice when it was hot.

At AK we'd do something similar, but there are lots of little out-of-the-wayish areas that you can park a stroller and sit while a small one naps. You can find tables at the restaurants (Flame Tree, Pizzafari) best at non-mealtimes, though - they get packed around lunch!

At Epcot, we liked the Electric Umbrella (somehow, we were always in Future World) but I think the restaurant in America would be nice and cool and relaxing as well.

At DHS, I honestly don't recall what we've done. I think we've sat near the Backlot at the restaurant area there once or twice.

The great thing about just resting while the little one naps is you get a much-needed break as well. It give you an opportunity to go over plans for the rest of the day, get a snack or a drink, use the restrooms, people watch and just get off your feet for a little while!
