I've spent the last week of my life scouring the boards and all websites related to disney. I thought that I had it all planned out but after reading my last post I may have made a revalation.

We are going to WDW from 8/30-9/6 and were originally planning on staying at the All-Star Music with the FTP. I was going to book the trip online and pay the required $200 deposit and the balance 45 days before we left which would be something like $700. That would be around 7/15 which is drawing near. After reading a few posts I came across some info that stated that depending on where you book your trip through, the full payment dates may vary from 45 days before you leave up to pay the remainder of the balance on arrival)

Is it possible to achieve the following:

1. Still book the FTP (expires 6/30), possibly other than online at disney.com

and

2. Extend the amount of time that I have to pay for the entire reservation so that I could upgrade a moderate or even deluxe resort.

Lastly, even if we don't up upgrade and decide to go with ASM I am still inquiring about extending the amount of time to pay the full amount. We decided to switch destinations for our vacation last week and this trip is going to cost us twice as much, but we intend to have 10 times the amount of fun.

thanks,
tRG

What you have been reading about is the differences between booking through CRO and WDTC. The only time you can choose which one you'd like to book through is if you want a room only reservation.

The FT package is offered only through WDTC. That means $200 deposit and balance due 45 days prior to arrival. There is no choice in booking this.

Because you are booking a package instead of a room only according to Mousesavers the 45 day rule applies no matter how you book FTP. If you were booking a room only you could do it through CRO where the restrictions are more liberal. Here's an excerpt about FTP:

The Fairytale Vacation Package is not identical with the full Dream Maker package, but you do get a keepsake character framed artwork with pin (one per room) and luggage tags (one per person), in addition to your room and passes.

You must book by 6/29/03. Terms: pay $200 deposit within 14 days of making reservation; payment in full required 45 days prior to check-in; cancel or change without penalty up until 45 days prior to check-in; penalties apply when changing or canceling this package less than 45 days prior to check-in.

Hope this helps

:D
