I would like to make some digital prints. Any suggestions, i.e. CVS, Snapfish, Wal-mart, etc. Has anyone tried Snapfish and used their editing program?

Thanks!

When you say "make", do you mean print them out from your camera disc? If so, Sam's has a great price (although I can't remember what it is right now):(

I am a 100% fan of Shutterfly.com I like their editing stuff online too(since learning to use Photoshop, I only use that though now).

If you have as many pics as I have then you are better off buying a "pre-paid" amount of pics so the cost is much less.

I do like the prints I have gotten from Snapfish and I just got matte finish ones from Clubphoto.com that I really liked and they are only .19 a pic

I have used Walmart and Sam's and I would never use them again...just personal taste.

To test them I sent the same pic to a bunch of places and compared the results. Shutterfly always wins my vote though!

Good luck..hope that helped!

I've used Snapfish to upload my edited images. I like being able to share my "albums" online with distant family and they can order prints right from there if they want any.

The finish is a similar quality to what you would get at Wal-mart, CVS, etc. For $23 you can get 100 4"X6" photos printed. Tax and shipping are extra. Regular shipping takes 5 or 6 days.

Their editing software leaves something to be desired. You can crop, remove red-eye and add some borders but the color-correction, brightness, contrast and special effects controls that you would find on other software is non-existant. That's why I prefer to edit my photos on my PC using Microsoft PictureIt! and then upload them to Snapfish.

So far, I've been pretty satisfied with their service. If you're not in a hurry to get your pictures, I would recommend them. It certainly costs much less than printing them yourself.

I've used Imagestation and have been satisfied with the prints. I do not use Walmart, because to keep the albums on line you must pay a fee.

Thanks everyone! I will "test" several of the on-line services. I've been working on getting all of my regular pictures into photo albums (19 years worth of DD & DS) - I need some of the digital to fill in the gaps. It's been fun looking at Disney pictures with the kids from 1990 - they grow up way to fast!

Heidi - we did an illuminations cruise with you several years ago - I ran across my pictures from it the other night. Do you remember our captain's name?

Thanks,
Carole

We used Sam's and the pictures were great. 17 a piece. The best price we have found. And they are ready in one hour.

Another vote for shutterfly. I think their quality is great and they are really fast. Plus, they always have some sort of special going on.

I have used Photoworks for several years and have been very happy with them!

You can take the media card out of your camera and take it to Walgreens if you need the prints right away. They got new digital printers that you put you media card into. It's not those old Kodak things. You can edit photos (eliminate red eye, etc.). The cost is high: 29 cents each but if you get 50 or more it is only 20 cents each and with a coupon you get a free photo CD. They were ready in about 10 min.

I have been impressed with CVS quality. The machines at CVS are wonderful, and the technicians at the one I go to are fabulous.

I've tried Target (better than ok, but not fantastic), and I think one more place.

I did my pictures at CVS for christmas. 60 cards in less than 20 minutes. The lab tech was very helpful and I will go back again. (I'll make sure she is on when I go)

I did a test run between Ofoto and Snapfish when I printed my first set of pictures. The service was great from both of them, but I was happier with the pics from Snapfish. The ones from Snapfish had truer colors.
I do all my editing with my own software before uploading them....Photo Draw and/or Photo Suite.

Another vote for Snapfish... but when I need pictures in a hurray I upload them to Ritz camera and then go pick them up at the store in a few hours..
