Saw great airfair to San Diego....

If you go to CA disney, where do you fly in to???

Thanks,
Goldi

Ontario....it's pretty close and usually cheaper.
Have Fun!!!!! :flower:

Long Beach...it's a very small airport and very nearby. Easy to navigate and easy to get into and out of.

FWIW, the San Diego Airport would be about an hour and forty-five minute drive to DL depending on traffic. I did it in slightly under 90 minutes from just north of the airport in rain and moderate but not heavy traffic.

Orange County/John Wayne/Santa Ana (SNA)....whatever it is called. It was a short 20-25 minute shuttle ride to DLR....

By the way, anyone who has a Disney Visa see the offer they are running for a free companion ticket to DLR or WDW with a $600 purchase between 6/1 and 7/31?

There are closer airports, but I always find LAX has the cheapest tickets. The difference is $100 to $200 per ticket.

Here's a guide to "distances" from airports to Disneyland without traffic.

John Wayne (Orange County) 15-20 min.
Long Beach 30 minutes.
LAX 45 minutes.
Ontario 45 Minutes
Burbank 1 hr.
San Diego 1 hr. 45 minutes.

SNA is closest and most convenient. It's about 20 minutes away.
Long Beach is next closest, more like a half-hour.
LAX and Ontario are both within around an hour.
As stated before, San Diego is 1 1/2+ hours away.
(Times are estimates, and can vary a lot with traffic).

I always choose SNA unless another airport is much cheaper. You also need to factor in transportation costs to and from the airport, which should be reative to the proximity to DL. I'd only consider San Diego if I was planning on renting a car and it was much cheaper, and/or I was also planning on visiting sites in San Diego too.

When we recieved our "new" Visa cards with the Chase logo, there was an enclosure that explained the offer...I think I left the info at work, but if you make $600 in purchases from 6/1-7/31, you get a certificate for one companion airfare ticket to either DLR or WDW. The certificate must be redeemed by Novemver XX of this year and travel must be completed by November 15, 2006. They were NOT very specific on the fine print on the enclosure, but I will assume there is quite a bit of it ;)

We cannot post info on discussion forums at work  , but if the info is any different than that, I'll update it when I get home tonite!

Now I had just about forgotten about that. I think it was for a limited time only. Once you met the spending quota, you got a coupon that you had to fill out just to get the certificate. My understanding was, once you got the certificate, you could redeem it for your travel, although you had to go through the Visa Travel company. In many cases, it might not save you much money since you might be able to get better fares on your own.

I got the coupon to send in for a certificate, filled it out, and sent it in months ago. I never got the certificate! I thought it said it could take 6 weeks to get the certificate, but I'm sure it's been much longer. Hummmmm.

I am actually flying out in less than 3 weeks into Ontario with a layover for an hour in Houston. I may need to mention that this is the first time I have ever flown or been that far out West. A little Southern Boy in the big state of California. Oh well, here I come. :sunny:

I prefer SNA over all others for proximity's sake. I also like Long Beach, because it's so small. I try to avoid LAX if possible -- no matter the time of day, it's a madhouse, and the traffic to OC stinks.
