Where to find 40% Michaels?

I see people mentioning the 40% off Michael's coupon and I'm wondering if it's a store circular? Special email offer?
I'm sure the offer has passed already but I want to know where to look for the future.
My local Michael's is about 45 minutes away in Staten Island, NY so this will be my first trip this weekend!

They have it in the Sunday ad. They don't have it every week. And it's 40% off one item, so if all the stuff you buy is cheap, it's not a lot of help. But if you've been waiting to buy a big ticket item, watch out!

There wasn't one this week. Sometimes it is printed in the regular part of the paper, so make sure not to just look for the Michael's ad. Occasionally they will have one for 50%. Also, it is off of the regular price of the item. Some clerks will give you the % off even without the coupon.
