Where to eat on Castaway Cay???

There's only two places. Cookie's Bar-B-Q and the one in the Adult beach area

Actually think Parrot Cay is only restaurant other than counter service while on Castaway Cay. The other servers are working at Cookies or adult beach.

The lines at the CC eateries go in waves. There are a lot of lines at Cookies, so if the closest ones are crowded, walk around the building. Parrot Cay on the ship is rarely crowded at all on CC day, and they have a salad bar and peel and eat shrimp.

Ummm, peel and eat shrimp, yummy! DD and I might have to eat on board.

What is the place at the adult beach like? What time do they serve lunch? We will probably eat at CC's, but just wondering. Last time DH missed lunch completely at CC's. He was inline for DD to get her hair braided and I went to lunch with the girls. When we got back to relieve him from line, he said they already closed it down.

Neither of my kids ate on CC because the food wasn't available long enough. That's the only complaint we had (other than elevators). They did have sandwiches sitting out for a while after the food line closed. They even ran out of ice cream before my dd got there.

Being an early family, we usually have the opposite problem - no food out when we start to get hungry. We've had the kitchen staff take pity on us and give us potato chips before the food gets out.

You do need to watch food timing on the ship - while there is almost always something available - it may be the pizza window or room service (and neither is convienent on CC).

We prefer to eat down at the adult beach; however, when we have our DS with us we need to eat at Cookie's. We don't have to go back onboard just to eat lunch. Cookie's was good, but there isn't steak there. ;) Imagine no line for ice-cream either. It gets a little busy and seating might be a bit of a juggle at peak times. We usually eat early or late. I believe in October we ate around 1 p.m. and same thing for this past Feb. I'm sure they close so they can clean up and get back on the ship to get ready for dinner.

The adult beach is the place to eat if you do not have kids with you. They have steak, lobster tail, maui maui, grilled chicken and all the other choices you get at Cookies. It is so good. Not as crowded and more peaceful.

How packed are the ones on CC?

Wow you have the same posting name as me :confused3 : :)

Even if it is crowded the line moved very fast....we have never had to wait in line longer that 5 minutes at there busiest and also always find seating :thumbsup2

Yeah, I wouldn't be afraid to hit Cookies right at lunch time. The line moves fast. The food at the adult beach sounds wonderful. I thought Cookies was perfect "beach food". I don't expect anything fancy when I'm covered in sand and salt ;)

The soft serve (frozen yogurt) was a huge hit with dd.

While we've heard rumors of the additional goodies, such as lobster, at Serenity Bay, we've not seen it on three trips. I suspect it's all on a trip by trip basis and you shouldn't count on it.

Last December, we came back form Serenity Bay and ate at Cookies (because it was so cold and windy...NOBODY was at Serenity) and the food selection was more varied. Lots of lines that move fairly quickly...lots of seating. Serenity Bay IS more peaceful and quiet...and the ice cream is much easier!

I agree Serenity Bay last Sept did not have lobster but was so quiet and peaceful. The food was fine and did seem to be out for quite some time.

On our last trip, I didn't see any lobster at Serenity bay, but they had lobster burgers and were grilling steaks. They have basically everything Cookie's has plus some extras--and none of the crowds.

Cookie's has LOTS of lines, and they do move quickly. As one poster said, look on the sides of the building--people don't realize those lines are there, and they are usually quite short. Don't miss the fruit station and the ice cream--these are separate from the main lines--they are in little stands like the kiosks at the mall.

Personally, with no kids, I'd do Serenity. With children, it's Cookie's. Be ready to order room service when you get back on board. DD is ALWAYS hungry then.

The lines moved really quickly our last time there and the bbq stuff was good. the best part was the ICe Cream machines!! The taste of the ice cream on the island put the ships ice cream to shame. even had some great flavors!!

Sb has the left over lobster from the semi formal night on the magic.

So it is not guarenteed. Although if you are lucky it was very very good:goodvibes

If you are on the Wonder there will be no lobster.:sad2:

However they do have steak & Salmon. :thumbsup2

I've only ever eaten @ SB so cant comment on cookies.

When I was last there they started serving just after 11:30 -not sure when it finished as I was stuffed ;)
