We have yet to have a good meal here. We have 4 children so please keep that in mind. Planet Hollywood was nothing great. We have a Rainforest Cafe close by so we don't do that one either. I was thinking of trying the Earl of Sandwich but any other suggestions- my DH might say no go for sammies for dinner. oh and we leave tomorrow- so no rush ;)

It's great! You might also want to try Bongos. They have an appetizer that's "shepherd's pie" balls. It would be great for a kids dinner. It's hamburg inside of a mashed potatoe ball, deep fried. Yummy. My dd will try anything , so I guess it depends on how picky your kids are. Have fun
:wave2:

You definitely have to try House of Blues for some kick butt Jambalya and other creole/cajun fare. It's alot of fun, with great music, and plenty loud and casual for any group of kids.
My fav is Upstairs at Wolfgang Pucks, but I wouldn't recommed it for kids. Downstairs however is perfectly ok for your little ones. The food is great, and a perfect blend of fun, funky and casual. I promise that you will love it!
IMO, Bongo's is not all that great. It's billed as a Cuban restaurant, Gloria Estefan owns the chain, but it's more like Cuban "inspired". Unfortunately, the food's pretty bland and pedestrian. However, later in the evening, if you want to ditch the kids and come back for drinks and dancing, Bongo's house band is awesome and the room really rocks.

I here you....
Not a fan of DTD restaurants. So we usually snack.

Stay away from Fulton's its terrible. Rude servers, dirty and the quality of the seafood is so bad.

Oh, I forgot Portabello Yaght Club...food is fantastic!! Italian, but not a red sauce joint like I'm sure you're used to. It's Northern Italian-Tuscan fare...really, REALLY good!! Great wine list and really delicious entrees. Try the Parmigiano Reggiano crusted NY Strip...unreal! That one's a sure winner and the restaurants definitely casual, you can wear shorts, but the vibe of the room is cool and upscale. First rate servers and bartenders! We never miss a dinner there while vacationing at WDW.

Earl of Sandwich is good... lots of variety... NOT your normal sandwich. DD17 is a huge fan of Wolfgang Puck Express in that area as well. For the price/time/taste, we've been as happy at EoS and WPE as we have anywhere else at DTD... of course, I still working my way through the restaurants.

WE ate at House of Blues and loved it. We are from South Mississippi and the food is very authenic. The white chocolate bannana nut bread pudding with carmel sauce is wonderful! It was big enough for 3 people to eat!

Earl of Sandwich is wonderful and affordable. Bongos was one of our families favorite meals. We were sorry that we found it on our last day.

Wolfgang Puck's is our favorite DTD restaurant. We think the pizza at WP Express is really the only decent Pizza in WDW (exceptions made for delicious flatbreads elsewhere) The sushi bar is delicious. The cafe has a wide variety to choose from. Made AR's tho, it's popular!

 Fultons, house of Blues, and  Earl of Sandwich---- our three favorites :goodvibes

We like just grabbing a pizza at Wolfgang Puck's Express in the Marketplace area. Affordable, very good, and you can eat outside so the kids can enjoy it!

JMO, but we hated Bongos. The servers were VERY rude to us, treated us like we were bothering them. In fact, the service was so bad that neither one of us even remembers what we ate - we just couldn't wait to get away from there! When I posted this after we got back, we had many others post and say the same thing. :sad2:

>You definitely have to try House of Blues for some kick butt Jambalya<

On Saturday, December 6, 2003 the Jambalaya sure kicked my butt. After spearing and biting into a hidden hot pepper, my mouth became so en fuego that I nearly hyperventilated and couldn't eat the rest of my meal. I had to get milk and tomatoes to cool off. I want to try HOB again, but this time I'll get the ribs.

We are not huge fans of the restaurants at DTD either...we have given HOB 4 tries and finally said to heck with it. The last time they had no high chair available, wouldn't let us bring a stroller in and it was horrible....

I certainly agree with Catheren...Stay far away from Fulton's. They do not even come close to offering a fine dining experience, the problem is that they charge as if they were.

My suggestion would be Portobella for a nice atmpsphere and excellent food, or House of BLues for a funky casual atmosphere, with good, and interesting food. :sunny:

we just ate at wolfgang puck's express (2nd time) for us and it was as good as the first time. I had a pizza first time and this time I had 1/2 rosemary chicken with the best garlic mashed potatoes I ever had.
