Where to eat at DS?

I have been to Disney World several times, and I am currently planning our next trip in June. We seem to have found our favorite restaurants at other parks, but so far we don't have any at DS. We thought the 50's Prime Time was super fun, but didn't think that the food was all that great (Maybe we ordered the wrong things). We have also eaten at ABC Commissary and have found it to be OK, but nothing that I really am excited about. Does anybody have any good recommendations?

We are not usually too picky. We do usually like something a little more healthy than burgers and pizza, but are looking for something not too expensive.

Thanks!

As for TS, I personally think 50s Prime Time is the best. I have eaten at all but Hollywood & Vine, but from reading reviews that place doesn't sound worth it to me. CS at DHS isn't too bad. Backlot Express is usually where my family eats, but finding a table is near impossible. On our last trip we ate at the places near TOT and I really enjoyed that. A lot of variety if you don't mind standing in various lines. I have also heard great things about the sandwiches served at Starring Rolls Bakery.

I'm not a big fan of the food at DS. I can tolerate the food at Pizza Planet for a CS. I like Sci Fi, but they took off the steak sandwich, I think, from the menu so I don't think we will go back this year. I would choose Mama Melrose if you wanted to do the Fantasmic package, but its not really worth it other than that.

On our DS day we are going to eat at Il Mulino at the Dolphin. Other times we have gone to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club.

50's used to be our fav but we had 3 bad experiences in a row so no more going back for us.

We really like mama melrose! Its great for a nice quiet lunch.

When it comes to table service my family and I enjoy 50's Prime Time Cafe and our favorite counter service location is the ABC Commissary.

We loved Hollywood and Vine! It is a buffet and the food was really good! We also like it because you can get a Fantasmic package which allows you to take your time eating and you don't have to line up so early to get in to see Fantasmic because they give you a voucher for a seat at no extra charge!
Good Luck!

We've eaten at 50's, Hollywood and Vine and Sci Fi. We did not care for Hollywood and Vine or Sci Fi. The buffet was not as good at Hollywood and Vine as it was at many of the other buffets that are available. 50's is our favorite at this park.

We did not enjoy the ABC Commissary. We loved the sweet rolls at Starring Rolls Bakery for breakfast. Mama Melrose has good food. We also had the best service there. We haven't been to 50's PT since 2002 so I don't feel qualified to comment on it except that we liked it. DH and DS enjoyed their lunch at Pizza Planet. I've heard excellent things about Sci-Fi and Brown Derby. You are going to get good and bad opinions on every restaurant...each family is different! That's what makes these boards great! :)

Thanks for your good ideas. I knew I would get some here. I didn't realize that Starring Rolls had sandwiches too. Reading your posts made me realize that there are a lot of restaurants that we have overlooked. It's also a good idea to try some of the resorts in the neighborhood.

Looking at some of the menus, I noticed that the Brown Derby has their Famous Cobb Salad for two on the menu. I love Cobb salads. Has anyone had it there for dinner? What did you think? Did it work well for two people to share?
