Where to eat after the Jays game on Saturday?

Hello

We are going to see the Jays on Saturday afternoon with 4 kids and I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of where to eat afterwards. I thought it might be fun to go to Gretzky's but the prices are a little off-putting with six of us. Possibly street meat outside the dome would be fun? Or in the dome...I mean Rogers Centre (showing my age).

Any ideas?

food inside the Rogers Centre runs on the expensive side as well. Most of the places around the stadium will likely be packed as well. If your kids are into trains at all come early and head to roundhouse park and take a trip on the miniature railroad there that the Toronto Railway Museum has.

Street meat is never a good idea here. Gretzky's is typical bar food if that is what you are looking for. Can you tell us what kind of food you like to eat? Will you be driving or walking? There are so many options in the area.

Canyon Creek is my fav restaurant on Front St. There's also a great Italian place on the north side, but the name escapes me at the moment. We generally end up at the East Side Mario's on the south side of Front, or at The Keg on York. There's a really great chip truck that parks in front of the Convention Centre too, if you want something cheap and fast.

I think we want to walk... if we're going to get in the car we'd be better off to drive outside the city to eat. I'd love to take the kids about as far a walk as Gretzky's but not too much farther. DD6 may or may not be in the mood to go for a walk and if she is nawt, ain't nobody got time for that!

I was thinking maybe Lone Star as well. Has anyone else eaten there? East Side is good as well - the kids like it there and it's pretty cheap and cheerful. There used to be a Planet Hollywood there but I think it's gone now.

I know the chip wagon you mean. That might be a fun experience...I wish we were a bit closer to Queen's Quay becuase I'd love to sit outside with something to eat. Having said that, I always try to do too much...probably going to a game will be treat enough without finding the 'perfect' place to eat afterward. Especially if the kids end up eating their weight in hotdogs and popcorn in the Dome. I have to load them up on fruit in the morning...

I've eaten at Lone Star once. It's not bad for a family style restaurant. Planet Hollywood has been gone for a long time. The Hard Rock Cafe would be fun for the kids but it is at Yonge and Dundas so you'd have to either walk for about 20 minutes or take the subway.

Prices inside Rogers are ridiculous of course. Better if you can hold off and at least have a sit down meal for the same price as a hot dog and coke. If that is all you want there are plenty of hot dog carts outside for much cheaper.
