So my boys feet just don't stop growing!! :lmao:I was hoping I could get two seasons out of the boots I bought last year...no such luck. Anyone know of any places that are having sales/good prices? Not the best time with the start of the season coming up...but with needing to buy three pairs I really don't want to break the budget..thanks!!

I'm really picky about my kids boots, as I don't want their feet to get cold at all and i've had alot of luck with the Lands End clearance section as well as LL Bean.

I just picked up a pair of Lands End boots at the Goodwill for $5. They are in gently used shape. I also got a Lands End snowsuit for DS and Lands End snow pants for DD at $6 each. Those were barely used. My kids are set for the winter and I spent less than $15.

One year, I found high-quality snow boots at a garage sale for $1.00:banana:
I would also check out thrift stores or post on Freecycle on what you are looking for. Kids usually wear the boots for just one season since their feet grow so fast so they are barely used. Unlike me, I've probably had the same snow boots for over 10 years (actually, one furry pair is 30 years old - I kid you not!).

Last year I made out pretty good at the Stride Rite outlet, but I was only buying for one! Also, on Black Friday last year Walmart had snow boots for $3. I bought DD a pair in the next size up from her SR ones incase she went through a growth spurt.

In the past I have bought them off-season from Land's End and LLBean, if they don't fit when winter rolls around they will still take them back since no time limit.

Check out Sierra Trading Post. I buy my boys' boots from them and I'm able to get good quality, name brand (Columbia, Sorel, North Face) boots for a fraction of their normal price.

I got a pair for my 4 year old from eBay just this month....$6 gently used. I also have snowpants in a 3t, 4t, and 5 all from yard sales. About $2 a pair. He also has about 5 or 6 winter coats in a 3t and 4t...all from yard sales. All less than $4 each, all in perfect condition. People under estimate yard sales...there is so much to find!

I usually check Craigslist for the weekend's local yard sales, put the addresses into my GPS the night before and then just hit GO in the morning....Come home with a van full of stuff for about $30.:rotfl:

Do you have garage sales near you? I pick up a BUNCH of boots at garage sales - you can tell oftentimes they've only been worn a couple of times. I get them usually for $1 or $2 - so I just grab any in sizes larger than my kids' current sizes...even if I have to get a size 3 and a size 4 and only the size 4 ends up fitting at the right time - I've still only spent about $3 or so on both - much better deal than buying new. I usually have a stock of about 4 or 5 pairs in our basement. I do get end-of-season sales in Jan or Feb too - same thing - just buy bigger.

Same thing with athletic cleats...I pretty much buy any of the near-new looking ones that are larger sizes than we are currently in.

I buy them every year from Target. DD loves them and they are normally between $15-20.

I just bought my 6 yr old a really nice pair of Kamik's online at Zappo's.
With our winters I need to buy well made, waterproof and warm boots. They weren't cheap, but they were on sale and much better than they retail for normally.
If you check out the site look in the Clearance section, often the prices are really good.:)
