Where to buy pins for trading- inexpensive- and other pin trading questions.

For example -- Disneystore.com sells:

Disney Up Pin Set -- 3-Pc. (Item # 63665P ) at $9.95 a set (of three pins).
That's just over $3 a pin, which I consider pretty good. You might even want to buy a set to keep and one to trade.

There is also a 4 pin set for $20.50:
Mary Poppins The Broadway Musical Pin Set -- 4-Pc. (Item # 102573P )

Also:

Toddler Disney Princess Mini-Pin Set - 7-Pc.
(Item # 400109057453P )
$29.95
(7 pins for $30)

If you are in no hurry and just want to build a stash for a future trip, I would just watch the web site for any that go on sale. I think you would much rather trade decent, authentic pins than questionable ones.

thanks for the information. I am also looking for some for my kids. for the seller true blue 2006 is that with the spaces? I found one that only had a feedback of 1.
The sellers I mentioned I have personally bought from. They are on the green seller ebay seller list here on the board and I'm no the only one who has good interaction with them. The other suggestions are good but there's really nothing wrong with mine either. Thewill sells pins on back that can be checked against the sku listed on Pinpics, I have gotten scrappers and used this board, Pinpics, and Dizpins for reference and education have a great time!

The ones that I bought are all high quality, collectors, cast members or hidden mickey pins. They are all tradable in the parks. Look for sellers that state that they are tradable in the parks.

A previous poster mentioned all the things I was going to, so I will address something else.

This board and these posts are specifically designed to EDUCATE novice pin traders on the trading of scrappers that is damaging the hobby. I believe that most people would not willingly buy and trade scrappers, they are simply not educated. I believe bamamolly fits into this category. The seller has high (possibly even 100%) feedback, they fake pins are INCREDIBLY hard to identify to the untrained eye, they state they are tradeable and are a price that is ridiculously low. For someone new to the hobby, it would seem like a good deal. As I hope you have surmised by now, it definitely is not.

By buying and trading even ONE scrapped pin, you are directly affecting the hobby for EVERY OTHER PERSON who comes into contact with that SINGLE pin, which could be hundreds or thousands of people (depending on how many times it is traded either immediately or in the future). If you take that SINGLE example and multiply it by hundreds of thousands (yes it is easily that many pins sold on ebay) you can see how damaging buying and trading scrap pins is.

As stated previously, pin trading as a hobby or even just an activity IS NOT CHEAP!!!!! I cannot stress this enough! I could EASILY buy a car with what I have invested in pins, if not a couple of them :scared1:

When my kids and I started pin trading we bought 2 each (which was easily over $100). We loved them and traded them over and over (kids really do love the actual trade more than the pin itself IMHO) and had a blast!!

It kills me that people state something like "we want to get started with like 20-50 each for cheap" Bottom line, if you were to start with that number of pins from disney, you're looking at $200-500!

Why can't people buy pins they like and trade them. You can trade the same couple of pins over and over and over again and not hurt anyone in the pin trading community. It seems to me that people want hundreds of pins but would rather have someone else pay for the authentic ones that they trade for, and supply a scrapped piece of tin in return. This is NOT how pin trading was intended to be.

Please use common sense when buying pins off ebay. If you're buying 50 pins for $30, they are obviously fake. Whether or not you can justify the seller, the auction or the item, your conscience knows.

As stated over and over, the only way to buy authentic Disney pins is from Disney. Best rule of thumb to follow IMO.
