Hi. Where in Ontario can I look for good walking running shoes so I can wear them at Disney? I don't want to spend a fortune either. I hope under $50.00.Theres nothing at Walmart unless a new stock comes in.

We tend to get running shoes at Sport MArt - I find they usually have the best deals - back in the fall I managed to get buy one get one 1/2 price - they have that sale on quite often.

Look around your city for a sports clearance center. We have a few here and you can get last years model of shoe at substantial discounts. Also I have picked up Rebok shoes at Zellers on sale for my children. Pretty good deals if you watch for the sales. Just make sure they fit well and work them in before you go. Personally I usually wear sandals at Disney. My feet get too hot in shoes.

The odd time you can find a good shoe at Sportcheck that is on sale. Mizuno and New Balance are great shoes.

There are lots of places that you can get really good running shoes for not so much money. First of all, there is the Adidas outlet stores, they have lots of them all over the place ( there is one in Mississauga ) and they usually have good deals. Zellers sometimes has really good brand name shoes for not that much $$. Also if you go across the border at all there is the outlet mall that has skecher and a whole bunch of other shoe stores that you can get shoes even cheaper. Also there is Dixie outlet mall in Mississauga that has lots of shoe stores and its very easy to find great deals there. I think there is a sport check there too.

Saucony's are really good running shoes for around $70 - remember you get what you pay for.

My kids all run long distance and wear Saucony's on the recommendation of our chiropractor (they have bad feet!)

We buy ours at Athlete's World.

remember you get what you pay for.

Can't agree more!

I second SportMart and if you can swing it, hit an outdoors store and invest in a pair of Merrell's - they're the best shoes I've ever owned!

Whatever shoe you buy......make sure you wear them for several weeks to break them in. I bought NEW shoes just for Disney.....awful mistake! BLISTERS! S

I bought my last pair at The Running Room and will never buy a cheap pair again. Until you try a really good pair on ($140 Asics) you have no idea how bad the cheap ones are. I am about to go buy my next pair and the thought never even entered my mind to go elsewhere. I even convinced my husband to go there because all his shoes were giving him back pain. Now he swears by the them too. It's the difference between staying in the parks a long time or halfway through the day wanting to go back to your hotel.

Try Payless. :thumbsup2 They have just started carrying a brand new marathon running shoe. I understand that the company that makes them also makes Saucony's. Apparently Payless went to them to get this type of shoe manufactured for their stores. The price was around $45 ... I haven't bought a pair yet, but I know people who have and love them. They are as lightweight as my $130 Asics that I bought last year.

I wore my Crocs a lot at Disney in December. :)

I see you don't live to far from Brantford. I would suggest Al's Shoes on King George Rd. They usually have good shoes ( Nike,Reebok ,Saucony ,etc) as well as Merrill's at fairly decent prices. It is always worth a look ,plus they usually still have a supply of sandals if you ask!
Good Luck

We shop at the Running Room but you won't find GOOD runners there for under 50 bucks. Another place is if you have an Athletes world clearance centre like we have in London they tend to send old stock there and clear it out pretty cheap. One of the guys at work just bought a new pair of Air Max that were tagged at 179 for 40 bucks.

Reebok at the St. Jacobs Outlet Mall.
All leather walking shoes $39.99.

They had a deal on just after christmas buy one pair get second 1/2 price or buy 2 pair get 3rd pair free.

DH got a pair $59.99, DD got a pair $39.99 and mine were free!
