Can anyone who visits Disneyland or California Adventure regularly let me know which shops sell the Glow with the Show ears? I'm sure there are carts selling them before the night time shows but I'd like to know where they can be purchased earlier in the day.

thanks

Pretty much any of the locations that sell ear hats also sell the Glow With the Show/Made with Magic merchandise (there is the ear hat, a wand, a paint brush, Minnie ears, gloves, and the two sipper cups). I know I've seen the ear hats in the Emporium, along with a lot of other shops. The Made with Magic stuff is pretty readily available.

As MomForFrozenAddicts said, the Disney Store carries some of the Made With Magic items. They don't seem to have the specific items for the 60th Anniversary (featured in this Parks Blog entry). Also, it's worth noting that if you have an in-park discount (e.g., AP, DVC, or Disney Visa), they cannot apply the discount at the carts (so you have to buy the item in the shop to get the discount).

Made with Magic items are also on sale at Disneystore.com. There will be have a friend and family sales soon for up to 25% off.
The Made with Magic Hat available at DisneyStore.com is an earlier design with the 2 batteries in a single compartment (top center inside the hat).

There is also a park exclusive 60th Anniversary Made with Magic Hat, which is blue with a simple anniversary patch. This hat splits the batteries into 2 compartments (one under each ear).

I recommend comparing the 2 designs, for both comfort and style. The 2 types are available in all the larger stores in the parks, but often not displayed together.

The wand seems pretty cool but based on what ive read on here im not sure if enough people have the made with magic items to make it worth it

The wand/paintbrush is fun to have, especially if you have a Glow with the Show/Made with Magic ear hat/band or sipper cup. It lets you change/control the color pattern. In terms of in-park guests wearing Glow with the Show/Made with Magic items, I agree that it's hit-or-miss. You aren't going to find a lot of guests at any one time, but I've seen plenty of folks wearing one of the items over the course of the evening.

Be sure to keep your receipt!! We bought a pair of the ears, and they seemed to be working just fine at the time we bought them early in the day. By the time it started getting dark though, it was clear they weren't functioning the way they were supposed to. I took them into one of the shops to see about getting them exchanged or getting new batteries. They initially weren't going to help me because I didn't have the receipt. Eventually, I talked to someone who allowed me to exchange them, but it would have been a lot easier if I had kept the receipt!

We had fun with our wand, wished more people had stuff we could change the color on. Once in line there was a guy, I dunno about 25 ish in front of us, he had a paint brush, and he obviously wanted it to be green. I kept changing it on him and he never figured it out. Then our wand started changing on us and we spotted the guy that was doing it. Fun to have color wars while waiting in line :)

I have to admit that it was kind of funny watching someone try to change the color of a non-Made with Magic/Glow with the Show item too. One person in my group was wearing the glow necklace Ghost Mickey and it cycles through red, green, and blue colors. Another guest had one of the wands and spent a good bit of time pointing the wand at the Mickey and nothing happened. They finally gave up, but I wonder if they ever figured out that the wand only works on Made with Magic/Glow with the Show items.

I think anything that lights up should be able to the "blinged" as my dd and I were calling it. We really wanted to change the ghost mickeys! Lol

I've got the Minnie Ears and the wand so my girls can play with the color changing feature. Although there weren't too many people with Made with Magic, but we had such a great time with people who had it. Especially the people with the wand who tried to change the color of our ears. We changed the color right back. Silly but fun.

I'm planning to get the DL special edition one.
