DD(8) has gotten too tall for her little kid sleeping bag and I need to find her a new one before the end of next week. She is a total girly girl and does not want one that looks sporty or boyish. Any suggestions on where to find one? I have no clue! Thanks!

Is she using it for sleepovers or camping? If it is for camping make sure it is rated for the weather, she will be using it. When my daughter goes to camp, she likes to take a +35 so that she can uncover if she is hot. We always get her a plain sleepng bag. My husband is a Boy Scout leader , he always talks about the importance of a warm sleeping bag at campout.

.

Good advice! For indoor sleepovers though. I'm not sure I will ever be able to convince her to sleep outside! :)

If it is just for indoor she can have a lightweight one and I saw some summer weight ones in the camping section of Walmart that were bright colors and there might even have been a pink one, I know there were plain red and blue ones and were under $20.

We bought DD's bag at Gander Mountain. I believe it's pink and purple with butterflies. She's used it multiple times and it's held up well.

I was in the same boat a couple years ago.. I got a really nice hot pink one at K-Mart for under $20, and it came with the carry bag!

I agree that Justice has cute "girly" ones. Plus, with Memorial Day Weekend sales, they are having 40% off plus an extra 20% off on top of that - for the entire store this weekend! If you can't find one there, I'd check Target or Walmart.

You want a slumber bag, not a sleeping bag.

The distinction: Slumber bags are cute, decorative things intended for kids to use for indoor sleeping. Sleeping bags are heavier, better insulated and intended for outdoor use.

I'd try Amazon or even ebay -- since this is something that kids outgrow, they'd likely be available used.

PB Teen has some really well made, comfy ones. Warm, too.

Thanks everyone! Saw what the Justice ones look like online. Those are exactly what she wants! Unfortunately they are out of stock both online and at all 5 of our area stores right now. Drove over 30 minutes because the clerk across town told me she had one in stock and she would hold it for me, and when I got there it was a small tote bag that said "I love sleepovers" on it. She totally did not understand that it was not a sleeping bag just because it said "sleepover" on it.

The PB kids aren't that much bigger than the one she outgrew. I'm looking for at least 60 inches. PB teen only has 2 in stock right now. They are really cute, but also $100.

Looked at Academy, Wal-mart, and Target and found a solid purple one at Target with pink and purple inside that will work for next week. Ebags actually had some cute ones, but couldn't guarantee they would be here in time for the party without some expensive shipping options. We're going to keep an eye on Justice and see if they get some in. If they do, we will pick up one of those as that is what she really wants, and it doesn't hurt to have 2, since then she and a friend can use them at our house. Thanks again!
