Where is the best place to buy your autograph books, lanyards, and disney items etc etc?

Target had Pir. of Carib. lanyards couple weeks ago. We buy tons of things at Dollar Tree--rain ponchos and handheld battery lightup fans (these are patriotic). They also have a lot of Disney things, such as stickers for scrapbooks. They have lots of Disney toys if you have little ones that you need as distractions for lines or car/plane rides.

What I mean or the things you have to get at disney. Are there cheaper spots with the same merchandise?

There is a discount store at DTD. I don't remember the name of it. The merchandise is limited, and it is usually older stuff that they are now clearancing.

Other than that I like to shop at World of Disney at DTD.

I purchased starter set lanyards (the same ones they have in WDW) for almost 1/2 of what they cost in WDW. Actually, I purchased auto books, penny book, passport, and nametags all before we went so "Mickey" could deliver them to the room. Some things were cheaper, some more $.. but I got the effect I wanted. :)

The best selection at Disney is the store at Downtown Disney. Prices are, as far as I remember, the same throughout all the Disney facilities.

The local discount stores also carry a lot of Disney products. The Walmarts/Kmarts have cheaper T-shirts, autograph books etc if you have a car there. But usually when you arrive you are too excited about Disney to detour to a Walmart!

I bought a lanyard, trading pins, and autograph book all on ebay last week, now all are all packed away, except the autograph book which is still yet to arrive.

I agree that most of the places on property sell things for about the same price. There is a place that I like to go to off property that has some good stuff..but you have to look at the tags to see if they actually say disney in order to make sure that they are actually disney ( if you care about that). One place next to the grocery store (publix I think)...it's close to orange lake time share properties. I can't think of the other.I know that wasn't extremely helpful but if I run I come across it in my paper work I'll let you know.

For us, the best thing turns out to be doing alot before we go. Then it doesn't really matter if the few things that we buy there are a bit pricey because we are not buying to much of it. For instance, I like to buy a watch with the year that we are there every trip. My daughter likes to get a twirley thing that lights up, and we all get t-shirts. But mostly everything else we bring.

Dollar tree has those glow in the dark bracelets and neckleses. They also have mini fans. One year we bought a small disney photo album from like wal-greens and took our polaroid camera. We then took a picture of the character and let them sign the bottom of the pic. This was awesome cause we had autograph and pic together. It was definately better than paying all that money for an autograph book at disney. Just be sure to use a sharpie to autograph with.

I believe there is also a number that you can call to oder stuff from the parks at home. I bet someone on this board knows it. If you get a few things here an there it won't be as expensive. Then put them in a box and only bring them out for disney trips. That way you start to collect useful things for the trips.

Also, your kids are at the age that they may enjoy making some of their own stuff like shirts, autograph books, photo albums, etc.

Good Luck,
Steph

We like to go to the Disney Character Connection at the outlet mall. We have gotten t-shirts, golf shirts, jackets, autograph books and pen, coloring books and much more from there. I have also seen lanyards and pins there. And everything is a lot less expensive than you would find at the parks. I think you can find info on it on the AllEarsnet website.

EBAY!!! EBAY!!! EBAY!!! EBAY!!! EBAY!!!

Love it, need it, want to have it! I got all of that sort of stuff on Ebay for a fraction of what it would have cost at the parks!

There are a couple of stores called the Character store at Belz outlet at the end of International Road in Orlando that we would go to that is full of Disney items.
