Where to buy affordable scented candles? Favorite fall/winter scents?

I was wondering what brands of candles you buy and where you get the best price.

We were at a neighborhood party this weekend. When I went into the house (we were in the yard most of the time), scented candles were lit everywhere and the house smelled fantastic. It got me thinking that I would love to create that same warm atmosphere.

My favorite scented candle is Christmas Eve by Yankee Candle; however, I only put that out for the holiday season.

What are your favorite fall and winter scents? What brand do you typically buy?

For candles I like Yankee candle Pumpin spice. But I use alot of scentsy because I can be forgetful

I bought Pumpkin Spice candles in the jar from Kirklands, they are SOOO good. Honestly though, I've bought the multi-jar packs of Pumpkin and Christmas Tree from Walmart and they've been great too.

I need to try Scentsy.

I love the "warm scents" hazlenut, vanilla bean, cinnamon, etc.

I've bought the For Every Body from Kohl's when they are on sale (and I have a 30% and like them.

I've bought the candles from Bath and Body Works also and wasn't a fan of them- they weren't very smelly when they burned...

I've used the Glade candles before. You can usually find coupons for them also. In recent weeks, there have been coupons for $1.50 off two. This week Rite Aid has them on sale for 2/$5, making it $3.50 then you get an UpReward for $1 off your next purchase. I know they have seasonal scents but I have yet to check them out.

I like the Glade candles and Yankee and the Simply Home at Kohls but SURPRISE SURPRISE I bought a candle last year from Walmart and love it. It is has 3 wicks and is in a short round glass container. The label comes off the front so I don't have the name but I think it may be just the Walmart brand. I like Mulled Cider and Vanilla the best. They smell so good and burn very clean (no black around the glass) They also burn completely down which I like. Also they are $3

I usually only burn my electric tart burn but I do use these candles in the fall.

Glade candles have a nice smell but are little. I have found the walmart $3 and $5 jars have such a wonderful smell and cheap

I burn Yankee Candle's Christmas Cookie all year long. I can't get enough of it. Even got the air fresheners in all four of our family cars.

I actually DO like Bath and Body Works candles, especially when they run their specials and you can get them for half off. Nutmeg in particular has a nice fall spicy scent that's not too overpowering but has a warm homey flavor to it.

I am Yankee Candle person and I love my halloween one (Buttercream and candy corn - yum). I also like the Christmas Cupcake and Sweet Strawberry.

I am lucky - I have a Paper Store near me that has a clearance room and sells them at 1/2 price. Its a great place to stock up when you find your favorites!

I love the Bath&Bodyworks Cinnamon Pumkin scent! I have the candles and the scentports! I did just order some Yankee candles for Christmas!

Paula Deen has a line of candles at Walmart now & they smell really good. They come in a couple different sizes & are all named/smell like some of her favorite recipes (& include the recipe too). I currently have the Pumpkin Roll Cake & Strawberry Shortcake--they were $5 for an 8 ounce size.

My favs are Bath and Body Works....I burn nothing else since I discovered them. They are on sale right now too, the large three wick are 2 for $20. My new favorite scent is caramel apple, yum, can't get enough of it and it's only out for fall. They also have a vanilla cupcake and chocolate chip cookies that are out for the Christmas season only...they are both extra yummy too!

I love love love scented candles too. I have recently tried to get away from the paraffin wax candles and I am currently loving soy wax candles. My new favorite brand is called Bar-None Candles. I found them by accident at a craft show I went to with my cousin and I love them. I have one scent called Bamboo that I have in my bathroom, its a very light clean smell (I hate "bathroom" candles that smell like soap). I have one in my living room right now called Birds in Paradise that I love and the one I have in my Kitchen for fall is called Pumpkin Cheesecake and it is so awesome smelling. I also got one called Coconut Lime Verbena that I am waiting to try once my bamboo scent is gone but they are lasting for a long time, I don't know if soy wax burns slower or what. I've decided I'm giving them for xmas gifts this year to teachers and such. They have their website on the label...I'm not sure if I'm supposed to put websites on here so if I'm not I am sorry and please remove it www.bar-nonecandles.com. I had a hard time getting to the site the other day because I keep forgetting the hyphen.

I was using scentsy before I found these candles and I liked them ok, but in my opinion their scent goes away much too fast and I couldn't get anything with their cinnamon in it because I was allergic to it or something which was weird because I never had that happen with any other brand.

What is scentsy?

I don't know if anyone answered you or not, I didn't see it but just in case Scentsy is just an electric "tart" type burner with their own brand of wax block you melt for scent. They have some good scents, but I found that they didn't last very long.

I use MyHouse Melty's. I started buying them shortly after he began making them, and then about 2 years later, my husband finally came with me to buy some candles and found out that he knows the maker (it's a really long story). Anyway, I've been buying them since 2001, only ones I will buy. I used to buy his candles, but now I'm only buying his Melty's. And actually, a while back he sort of conned me into selling them as well.

We bought an oil warmer at walmart for around $5 and its great. The oil is available at most stores and the scents change as the seasons do, its pretty cheap and really fills a home with great smells.

I love glistening snow that glade releases for the holidays, always stock up on the oil candles after christmas for the rest of the year.

My new weak spot is for the Woodwick candles, they sell them at the Cracker Barrel. My favorite is the redwood scent, nice earthy warm smell. Nothing flowery and overly scented. Although there's a couple of fall scents that have been released I wouldn't mind having. They are not cheap, but you can usually buy 1 and get 1 half off. I love fireplaces and the sound of a crackling fire, so I can't help but love them.
Although, you do need to be careful with them, since it's a wood wick, it smokes as it burns unlike a regular candle wick. Leave it burning too long, and you might set off the smoke alarm.
