Hi Everyone! Thanks for all your useful information.

1) Can anyone please advise "where" we can buy the 25% discounted Disneyland tickets for Canadians?

2) Do we need to buy them off the Disneyland website? Is this the "only" place to buy them?

3) I know that any tickets bought from the Disneyland main gate will "not" have the 1 time use of the 1 early morning hour (sorry ... forgot what this hour is called).

4) Is there a 3rd Party seller (eg. Ares Travel etc.) who sells the "same" 25% discounted tickets BUT also gives something "extra" off the price or gives additional perks? I'm guessing no but I'm hoping there is!

Thanks again for your help!

2) Yes, the discounted tickets can be bought thru the Disney website for both Disneyland & Disney World. I know we can buy the tickets for Disney WORLD at CAA in Ontario so i would *assume* you could get tickets for Disney LAND as well at any CAA office, a quick phone call will answer that question , you don't need a membership to buy things thru CAA BTW
3) I can't help you with this because i have no experience with DisneyLand, I don't know what that hour is called or how it works, but i do know that these discounted tickets are NOT sold at the gate -- only on-line or thru a few "brick and mortar" businesses in Canada or thru Airmiles if you redeem some miles -- they have discounted the number of miles neeed.
4) I highly doubt that anyone will offer any extra perks to this already low price.

Thanks for your kind assistance! Sorry ... long post coming up!

My apologies ... point (3) in my original post is a bit misleading. Please note that the 25% discounted tickets can NOT be bought a the main gates. Repeat: can NOT be bought at the main gates.

I believe that the tickets will be at the "regular" price at the main gates.

General fact: Tickets bought at the main gates do NOT include the "Magic Morning Admission" (ie. 1 hour early entry before park opening).

General fact: In order to get the "Magic Morning Admission" tickets must always be pre-purchased (ie. bought in advance and NOT at the main gates).

The following is from Disneyland's website and pertains to the 25% Discount offered to Canadians:

Book Through
February 28, 2017

Important Details

· Savings compared to the price of the same ticket sold at the Disneyland Resort Main Entrance ticket booths.

· Offer only for Canadian residents, and valid Canadian passport must be presented with ticket for theme park admission.

· Residents of Canada who are not Canadian citizens must bring valid passport and valid proof of Canadian residency.

· Tickets must be purchased between September 16, 2016 and February 28, 2017 and prior to travel to the Disneyland Resort (includes Will Call and mail delivery options).

· Offer is not available at the Disneyland Resort Main Entrance ticket windows.

· Tickets must first be used by December 31, 2017. Tickets expire 13 days after first use or on January 13, 2018, whichever occurs first.

· Each day of use constitutes one full day of use.

· Tickets may not be sold or transferred for commercial use and exclude activities/events separately priced.

· Offer may not be combined with other ticket discounts or promotions.

· Subject to capacity, restrictions and change without notice.

· Magic Morning admission allows admission into selected attractions at Disneyland Park before the park opens to the general public on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. Each Guest must have valid, eligible theme park admission. To enhance the Magic Morning experience, it is strongly recommended that Guests arrive at least one hour and 15 minutes prior to regular park opening. Magic Morning admission is based on availability and capacity. Applicable theme park, days and times of operation and all other elements including, but not limited to, operation of attractions, entertainment, stores and restaurants and appearances of characters may vary and are subject to change without notice. Subject to restrictions and cancellation.

* All tickets are nontransferable and exclude activities/events separately priced. One-day tickets are valid now through December 31, 2017. The first day of use of multi-day tickets must be on or before December 31, 2017. Multi-day tickets expire 13 days after first use or on January 13, 2018, whichever occurs first. Tickets may not be resold.

Summary:

Therefore, some important notes to keep in mind:

1) 25% discount for Canadians NOT available at main gates. You need to buy the tickets BEFORE you arrive in Disneyland.

2) 25% discount available IF purchased by DEADLINE February 28, 2017 (see detailed note above for extra restrictions).

3) Bring PROOF of Canadian Citizenship (AND Canadian Residency if applicable ... if applicable please check to see HOW you prove this) in order to gain admission to the parks. This means bring your PASSPORTS (and OTHER PROOF OF RESIDENCY if applicable) to the parks IN ADDITION to your park tickets!!

4) 1st Day of use must be ON or BEFORE December 31, 2017. Tickets expire 13 days after first use or on January 13, 2018, whichever occurs first.

I hope that the above noted info helps. If I'm mistaken on any of the above noted points, I welcome your help in correcting them.

Thanks!! Happy Travels Everyone!

For anyone who's going to DLR for the first time, here's one thing I would add that I didn't realize before I went to my first time...

You only need to bring your passports/ID the FIRST day of usage at DLR. They will check your ID's at the main gate and take a photo of you and everyone else in your party and attach it to your pass. After that, no more proof of ID is required for any other entry to the parks. Your photo will pop up on their machine upon entry and you'll breeze through.

If you want to buy alcohol in DCA, you should bring your passport. Many people have been asked for ID even though they are well above the legal drinking age and quite a number have been told that a Canadian driver's license is not accepted as ID. (Not really related to this discussion about discounted tickets but something I thought could be helpful to know! :) ) For me personally, I have been asked for ID a couple of times (I'm 44) and luckily I have always had my passport with me.

Thanks!! Good to know as I don't like to walk around with passports!

Thanks!! Hmmm ... and all this time we thought we were being asked for ID because we looked so young! Ha, ha!

Seriously though ... that's a good point to bring up. A Canadian driver's license is not an acceptable form of ID. When being asked for ID, a passport is pretty much the only acceptable type of ID. Although bothersome if you don't have your passport on you, it makes sense. Driver's licenses from different parts of the world most likely will look different and there's no way to verify authenticity. Conversely, passports (I'm assuming) probably pretty much look the same AND are also harder to "fake". I ran into this type of situation when an USA Costco asked me for ID and they told me they had no way to verify the authenticity of my Canadian driver's license.

I just purchased my vouchers through flight centre. So you may want to try a travel agent as another option to booking direct with Disney. I found it slightly cheaper and benefited from paying in Canadian dollars rather than paying in USD online directly with Disney. The vouchers do not say anything about the Canadian special so I anticipate a passport might not be required when I exchange, but will have them just in case.

I used my Nexus card as proof of Canadian citizenship for the 25% discount at DL recently, but that had to be approved by a supervisor. Easier to carry than my passport.

Thanks for the info. Would you please answer a few more questions? I've never used flight centre so have no idea how flight centre works.
Thanks!!!

1) How much did you pay in CDN for your Disneyland tix AND what kind of tix were they? (Example: 5 Day Adult Park Hopper @ CDN$xx each)

2) Did you speak with a flight centre agent OR book directly online yourself?

3) I checked Flight Centre's website and they're showing the following price for an 5 Day Park Hopper:

5-Day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Ticket
Adult from: $406
Child (3-9yrs) from: $388
taxes & fees included

Note:

* Since taxes & fees are included I'm assuming that the "stated" price above is what we would pay. Correct?

* Assuming the above noted prices are in CDN since I took the info from the ".ca" website (ie. Canadian website). Correct?

* Did you speak with a travel agent to get the 25% discount?

* I'm looking at the cost and it doesn't look like the above noted prices are the 25% discounted cost.

Why do I think this?

* Assuming exchange rate @ 1.40 then:

Adult Tix = USD$251.25 (cost on Disney's site) x 1.40 exchange rate = CDN $351.75 < $406 listed above (assume $406 is in CDN$)

Thanks again for your help! I hope you can help "de-mystify" the above for me!

I ended up booking a package directly through a Flight Centre travel agent (not online) which included Air, Hotel and park tickets which may have helped with getting offered a better price - but she did quote me CDN$325 for a 5 day hopper separately if I didn't got with the whole package. It could have been a unique situation as I was inquiring about other things and park tickets were tacked on at the end.

In my research, I also called Travel Best Bets and ask about tickets only and they quoted around the same price as well ($319 online). So you could try them if Flight Centre isn't able to do just the tickets.

Make sure you call and speak to someone though. Could vary agent to agent.

Good luck!

That's awesome, thanks! I really do not like the idea of carrying passports all day every day in the parks. Our first day will be a half-day. Maybe I'll just run it back to the hotel room's safe after getting our passes set up.

Well now, that sucks... LOL. Especially when you're in your 40's (late for me) and look it! Seriously though - how many people want to carry their passports around and risk losing them. I wonder if a photocopy will work.
