I posted this earlier and wanted to do it as a poll but couldn't figure it out! So please ignore the other thread :)

After going back and forth and changing my plans about a thousand times , I have finally decided where we should stay. The only problem is where to stay the last night of our trip.

We are visiting Universal/WDW in January. We are vacationing with my BIL and his family. We will be spending the days seperate and the evenings together. We are not staying at the same resort as them.

We will be in Orlando 8 nights. The first 3 nights we are spending on-site at Universal. My inlaws won't be in town yet and this is just our "family time" . On Monday the inlaws arrive and we are moving over to OKW for 4 nights. I picked OKW because of how large the living area was. I thought it would be a terrific place for us to spend time with our family in the evening if we decide not to head out to the parks.

I rented points for these 4 nights at OKW. I decided not to rent for Friday night, our final night, because the cost of renting points would be higher than just paying one night rack rate w/taxes.

Here is my dilema:

Do I just rent Friday night at OKW through Disney? Will we get to stay in the same unit if I do this?

or....

Should we move the final night and try out a new resort!?!

We will be spending Friday, our final park day at the MK. So I was thinking mabye GF, CR, or WL would make sense? Or maybe AKL or PC because I would like to stay at either of those also?

What would you all do?

Thanks!

Teresa

Does anyone know, if I stay at OKW, will I be able to stay in the same room?

And how does that work? Do I go to the front desk, check out, and then check back in?

Thanks,

Teresa

We rented points last year for an OKW stay too and then reserved a room through Disney with an AP rate for the weekend at OKW. We were able to stay in the same room. When I called Disney to make the reservation I explained the situation and gave her my confirmation number from the DVC point reservation which she noted on their reservation. This "linked" the two reservations together. When I checked-in at OKW I made sure they had seen the two reservations and they said it was no problem to stay in the same room. January is usually not a very filled season for OKW so I don't think you'll have a problem staying in the same room. Since we paid for this extra day through Disney we got housekeeping that day too and all fresh new supplies.

BTW, we loved our OKW room! We loved it so much we came home and bought DVC ourselves, so beware!! :) It was very spacious and we loved the quietness of the resort. Have a great time!

Thanks MinnieGi! It's good to know that we can likely stay in our room if we decide to stay at OKW the final night.

LOL about purchasing DVC! We rented points in June for BWV and LOVED our stay there. We took the tour and considered it but decided it wasn't right for us at this time. However, if DH would of said he was more interested I would have jumped right on it, right for us or not, lol!
