Hi,
For those of you who may remember me :) I am celebrating my 20th anniversary and bringing along our 3 year old DD. We are going on a 3 day Disney Cruise and was going to use my points for the day prior to the cruise for Grand Floridian concierge - a whopping 70 points - which I still have reserved. In total I have about 120 reservation points that I must use by February 1st.

Well, the use of ALL those points was really bothering me - not the greatest value. So my new question is while on the anniversary cruise would I be able to use those reservation points to book another 3 day cruise for any time before they expire? I know that they offer a discount and usually ship board credit. I realize I can book with "normal" points on board but can I use my reservation points on board? I practically have enough points for 2 adults for the 3 day. A much better value I think! I hope i'm not too confusing :confused3 .

Thanks again!

Mary

Oh no 3 year old on an anniversary vacation. :rotfl2: If you are only staying one night my opinion would be go where you think you will get the most out of the resort. If you are only going to be basically sleeping in the resort then I would stay at a low point resort. But if you want to take advantage of the resort itself and spend time at it then maybe BWV. You would still save points and have lots of things to see and do. I have never been fan of using pionts to stay at another non DVC resoert such as the GF. IMHO the amount of points needed just doesnt pay for what you can get at a DVC resort.

How about AKL with a savannah view - With a 3 yo being able to see the animals might be fun

Thanks for your replies! We had originally planned to go on our own but my sitter has a crisis on her hands that won't be resolved by the time we leave so it was either cancel or bring her. It should be fun

We will be arriving in the morning so we will have all day to enjoy the resort. I was also thinking along the lines of the polynesian or AKL but since I have to use or lose these points I was going to splurge on something I would not ordinarily even think of using them for.

Has anyone done concierge at either the poly akl or gf?

Thanks again!

if you are during concierge I would vote AKL - that one seems to be the best!!

Poly has a fabulous kid's club that you could use in the evening so that you and dh could have romantic time together. AKL has a kid club too, but I've heard only glowing reports about the Poly.

Poly, GF are the top two for your special celebration

Next I would consider a 4 night DCL

Also consider AKL because of its unique theme and savannah and in particular the sunrise or sunset safaris (must be concierge level for these).

Go for the concierge and really pamper yourselves

Best wishes and congratulations :)

I vote for the AKL-I think concierge would be a wonderful anniversary splurge!
Happy anniversary!

We had a wonderful time when we stayed in the main building GF concierge....we didn't use points, got a passholder discount. I'd go back for a special occasion. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the castle.

Thank you all for your suggestions but I still don't know what to do! I currently have booked a concierge room in the main bldg of the GF- royal palms- I think its called. I'd really like to stay on the monorail this time since we've never done that.

I'm also torn because I love AKL and I know that my DD and DH would also love it. I've stayed there but DH hasn't.

I'm going crazy here trying to decide and DH is not helping as he just says do whatever makes you happy .

Thanks again!

Not to hijack this thread, but we are also planning an anniversary trip and i saw this post regarding staying in the Main building at GF, is the only way to stay Main building at GF concierge? If not, what room do you book to ensure you are staying in the main building?
