I'm overwhelmed!! ok....I'll admit it. I've been to Disney twice before but never had to plan the trip. I have 3 children.--11--boy, 7--girl & 16 mth. girl (20 mths. when we go)--We are going in March on my "spring break" so I assume the crowds won't be huge & seating won't be much of a problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner? Thanks so much!! :)

We'll need a bit more info if we're going to give you useful suggestions. Can you tell us about any likes/dislikes? Budget constraints? Where will you be staying?

As far as where, usually its best to have lunch in the park you are in that day but sometimes its nice to eat at one of the nearby resorts. Or even back in your own resort (if staying on Disney property) followed by a mid-day break.

Not too sure what your family likes, but here are a few of our favorites. We have visited Disney with different friends over the years and each have different tastes, but all have enjoyed these restaurants.
Boma-the AKL is worth the visit in itself. Walking through the lobby and out to one of the savannahs is an awesome experience. This is our favorite place to eat and we feel it is the best buffet on property.
Whispering Canyon Cafe-we haven't been since the menu change, but enjoy sharing the skillet and bottomless milkshakes. Our goddaughters like the antics that go on as well.
50's Prime Time Cafe-the food is good, DW and I always seem to share the fried chicken and pot roast. It's also hard to beat the experience of eating im Mom's kitchen. Just a reminder, make sure you wash your hands, no elbows on the table and clean your plate.
Flame Tree Barbeque-it's a nice break from typical counter service park food.
Beaches and Cream-no trip for us is complete without stopping there and sitting at the counter for a burger and some fries to go with our sundae.
Casey's Corner-this is a must stop anytime we travel with friends with kids. They all love the corn dog nuggets.

Here are some of our favorites (8 and 10 year old girls, 7 year old boy)

Chef Mickey's - CR
1900 Park Fare - GF
Sci-Fi - MGM
Coral Reef - EPCOT
Biergarten - EPCOT
Garden Grille - EPCOT
50's Prime Time Cafe - MGM
Liberty Tree Tavern - MK
Crystal Palace - MK
LeCellier - EPCOT

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these

Hi! March is actually going to be a very busy time, especially around Easter. If you want to eat at any of the table service restaurants I would strongly advise to get Advance Dining Reservations (ADR) for your stay! It might sound rather strange to plan your meals so far in advance, but lots of restaurants are fully booked and don't accept walk ups.

I would suggest to make a plan on which day you want to be where and then plan restaurants at or close to the parks where you will spend the day or at your hotel. In my opinion the Unofficial Guide offers an excellent overview of the restaurants available.

I would deffinately do ADR's. It isn't always fun to have to plan around eating schedule. But worth doing if you want a memorable experience! Some of our fav's are:
'Ohana ... character breakfast Poly
Prime Time...MGM
Flame Tree BBQ...AK
Kona...Poly
Hoop Dee Doo....Fort Wilderness
Coral Reef....Epcot
Beaches And Cream....BC
There are honestly too many to mention. But we always find time to frequent these! HOpe you have a wonderful time planning! :)

Each family has their own personal tastes. All we can do is tell you what we like! :) It will be a matter of trial and error to find out which ones are right for your family. Read the DIS to learn which restaurants seem to be more popular with people, or post a poll asking wich one people like most and the top answers would be a good start. But even among those there will be some you like more and some you like less. My DH doesn't understand why I love Le Cellier. And I dont' understand why some people like Beaches & Cream. Everyone is different.

For my family (3 DD's, ages 14, 10 and 6) our must-dos are :

Le Cellier
LTT character dinner
50's Prime Time
Cindy's castle...any meal
Hoop Dee Doo Revue--SO FUNNY!

Oh, and Annabelle....Welcome to the DIS!

Sorry---should have given more info....none of us care for seafood. Anything else goes. We're staying at the Carribean in Disney. I'm looking for a good/fun character breakfast, moderate priced lunch & dinner. I don't mind paying $$ but I also don't want to pay $60 per person. Thanks everyone!!

We have a 7 y/o daughter, a 6 y/o daughter, and a 3 y/o son. Here are some of our favorites.

MK - Columbia Harbor House (ate here twice on our last trip) & Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dinner.

Epcot - LeCellier (on our must do list for our next trip) & Norway Princess Storybook Breakfast

AK - Flame Tree BBQ (wonderful counter service meal)

Make sure to look at the menus and the reviews of the restaurants on the "allears" site. (www.allearsnet.com)

Like others have said- it obviously differs from family to family. Here are our favorites. I have dd2 and ds6
These are table service ones:
Breakfasts:
Character Breakfasts- love Crystal Palace( great way to kick off early MK), Chef Mickey (crazy but fun), Akershus (princess) , Hollywood and Vine (preschool)
We enjoy:
California Grill, Kona, The Old Japan (hoping new Japan is as good), Plaza in MK to take a load off during the day , Raglan Road (although service lately has been spotty).

THere are probably so many that I am not mentioning but these are the first that jump to mind for your situation.

Our favs for me my wife and son are

MGM Sci Fi or 50s Diner
Epcot Coral Reef (I like to eat lunch somewhere in the world at a counter service to get a taste of something new as well)
MK Anywhere but Tony's (although I have heard people say they liked it)

I also think the most underated resturant in all of DW is Spoodles. I dont see it mentioned much. It is at the Boardwalk resort and could be very easily paired to your day at Epcot or MGM.

:thumbsup2 We recommend:
Hoop Dee Doo
Liberty Tree Tavern
Garden Grill
Crystal Palace
Kona (any meal)
Yachtclub Galley (breakfast or dinner)
LeCellier
Biergarten
Trail's End Buffet (breakfast/ dinner)
California Grill
Spoodles
Rose & Crown
Whispering Canyon (breakfast/ dinner)

Our family does not care for Cape May, Boma, Chef Mickey, or Ragland Road. Read the menus from allears.net try whatever seems to fit your family. Each to his own, use these opinions simply for some direction to narrow down a list that peaked your interest.

Happy planning!
Mrs. Disney Ron

My favorites include Boma, San Angel Inn, Chefs de France, House of Blues, 'ohana

We are always seem to be the opposite of everyone else
when it comes to liking restaurants.

We loved Tonys Town Square, our food and service
was excellent.

Hated Chef Mickeys and Garden Grill
Did not care for the African Food at Bomas.
I know we're strange people. :upsidedow

So now I just go to any restaurant the I feel
like going to even if it gets bad reviews because
when we do that we usually like it.

All of you have been so much help. Thanks so much for the info.!!!!! Hope you all have great vacations!! :)

Chef Mickey's or Cinderella's Royal table for dinner. And Hollywood and Vine.

Spring Break in March is actually one of the busiest times in the World. You will find it quite crowded. Will you be on the Disney Dining Plan?
If so it is essential that you make ADR's for your TS meals now. The ADR window opens 180 days before check in.
The best approach is to look at the park hours and figure out which park you will be in on which day. Then take a look at the menus here on the DIS and on allearsnet.com and see what restaurants appeal to your family's tastes. Pick a restuarant in or near the park you will be in that day. It is much better to make ADR's near where you will be rather than traveling to meals.
Even if you are not on the DDP, if there is a particular restaurant or character meal that you really want to eat at, it is important to make an ADR for that meal.
Planning is half the fun :cool1: and I have seen too many families turned away from meals they were hoping for. The most popular places usually are not accepting walk ups.
Have a Great Trip

Agreed, 2/15-4/14 is peak time. When in March are you going? "Your" spring break probably coincides with tens of millions of others. Easter is on 3-23-08, not sure when most schools are shutting down or when college spring breaks begin. With the ddp going on you better get any adr's you really want now.
