Where is the Epcot Character Spot w/Joy and Sadness?

I've been trying to figure out where Joy and Sadness are in Epcot? I recall them being near Soarin last year but when I look up the Epcot Character Spot, Disney has it on the other side of the park. However, I can't tell if that's just for other characters.

Can anyone clarify?

Epcot Character Spot. After you enter the park walk for about 6 minutes and there will be an entry on the right that leads to The Land. Within that entry way you will find Epcot Character Spot on your right

Are you heading there after FEA? The character spot is where @randumb0 describes - the area is in the buildings to the left of Starbucks.

Thank you. Now that you described that I went back and looked and realized I was remembering correctly but the map was the other way in my mind.

I'm planning to go at rope drop on the same day I get a Soarin FP. We have reservations at Akershus earlier in the week and will do FEA on that day.
