Where is the best spot to see "Wishes" from

Could someone please describe what exactly is meant by the "hub"? I haven't been to WDW in a few years and I can't picture what you guys are talking about!

Thanx :)

The "hub" is the circle in front of the castle. It is called the hub because all 4 major lands of the park meet there.

Thanks

At Disneyland, my usual spot is the end of Main Street right where the hub begins. That way, you don't get blocked out from the low level stuff and you can see "the whole picture" much better. With the set ups being identical, yet different, it wouldn't surprise me if Steve Davison follows the same pattern of his other shows.

This topic just came up in a Disney newsgroup I belong to. The poster said that he had seen Wishes and the hub IS NOT a good viewing site. The show is much bigger and covers a wider area than Fantasy. He suggested Town Square (entry area of MK near City Hall) as the best site inside the park. But he actually said to fully appreciate the size of the show, to view it from outside the park like at the Poly or the ferry dock at TTC.

Disney Steve...
Do you think watching them from the Poly would have the sound too? I know when I've watched the Fantasy from the Contemporary landing on the top floor they had the sound piped in ...Do you think that is the same with the poly...say the beach area?

Donna - I'm not sure. I was wondering that myself. The person who posted the info actually watched the show from the ferry dock at TTC. He didn't mention the music being piped in there - doubt that it was - but they might do it at Poly like they do at Contemp. If anyone finds out, let us all know.

Re: music at the Poly
Not sure about Wishes (since I won't see it until Saturday!) but the music was piped in at the Poly for FIS. DH and I loved sitting on a beach chair and watching it! Don't forget to stay for the EWP.

Thanks for the answer...hopefully someone will know in a couple of weeks...I'll be going on the 24th of Oct. and many of the nights that I'm there will be early closing for mnsshp but there will be a couple of days that they will have the Wishes fireworks show....so if we don't know by then...I'll let you know when I return....

Gee, even withall the good dieas, I cant decide where we should try to watch it from. Anyway, I cant wait to get there and guess that it really doesn't matter. We will probably be somewhere on Main St.

We just got back from BWV and we saw them testing out the new fireworks on 2 different nights. We had a 5th floor boardwalk view so we could see MK fireworks as well - it was SOOOO cool! Between 10-10:30PM on Tuesday and Thursday (I think those were the days) they ran what seemed to be the whole show and they were the most original fireworks I had ever seen. Obviously couldn't hear music, but the display itself was very different - nothing like any other fireworks we'd seen. Lots of one type of display turning into another type while in the air - I'm not describing it well, but it seemed fantastic. I couldn't believe we got to see them testing the show twice! We were at the MNSSHP on the 3rd and was also hoping that maybe they'd start the new ones.....but the halloween party ones are good too. Have fun all who get to see them tomarrow!

The castle is the focal point for the fireworks. I don't really like the fact that the display is so large because it's hard to find a spot and REALLY get a good view. The Hub has a lot of trees so if you have a wide view, chances are you don't have a very tall view and you'll miss some of the hig ones. I've seen them 4 or 5 times and so far my favorite spot is on the caseys/emporium side of mainstreet by the tip board!
Just a little tip though! They close of most of fantasyland because some of the shells are shot off from there, so if you are going to stake out a spot ahead of time fantasyland isn't a good place to go! They do have to clear that area!

Has anyone thought about sitting above the train station? That is nice and high. You'd have to stake out a spot early though, we'll be there in January when crowds are low.

What do you think of this spot?

jillpie: shhh, that is the same plan my evil little brain was hatching so maybe we'll be the other family at that spot when you are there! see you there in Jan!

so are you thinking all of fantasyland will be off limits? any where else as we were thinking of going for the late fireworks (if there is one and going to the back of MK during the first one on a Sat when we are hoping Spectro willl be playing. ( only day for it last year) or do you think it will only be one per night as per Illuminations

Thanks

lol Jann! Looks like you'll see it before me. What are your dates? Have you started a plan yet? I'm waiting for those darn hours to come out...should be about another month or so. I can't wait to see this new show!!

Jan. 6-14..about the plan ,well lets just say I am "bordering" on obsessing about it, the present plan is probably revision #853! I am trying to leave plenty of openings for Wishes since we love Illum. and someone compared it to that..now if I only had some kind of time frame as to when it will run since I know if I go by last year it will change and will be just the same time I have every dinner Ps (except for the one for Ohanas!, that will be 2 hours too early!) at least it's fun if frustrating!

Jann, ours is Jan. 9-18. Have you called your ps's in yet or are you waiting for the hours? I usually have my plan all done by now, but I really hate changing everything once the hours come out.

I called in boma and am going to call in Ohanas and the breakfasts when I can .. the others I may wait and see. I figure I would rather have to change the ones I really want to go to than maybe not get the time I want anyway. It's funny Disney sent me an email about making the ps...don't they understand the difficulty about doing that with no park times?? or do they just eat at 10:00 every night maybe...
