We are staying at ASMu for 3 nights before our upcoming cruise. We are doing MNSSHP one night, but otherwise we are going to relax, hang out by the pool and do some last minute shopping before the cruise.

I walk 3miles/5k every day. I prefer a larger route to going around a small route 15-20 times. I am looking for suggestions about the best place on property to walk. I do have a car so transportation is not an issue.

Thanks

I don't have the exact answer for you :confused3

There is a walking/jogging map that exists for the Beach Club/Yacht Club area - if you go to that FAQ thread, the friendly people over there will be able to help better. (Not a runner, so I didn't bookmark it)

The walkway between Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter is great plus you can walk all through Riverside. I did this real early a few times and only saw fellow walkers and joggers and the occasional rabbit.

It is a bit our of your way though...

Among the restaurants that serve drinks at World Showcase. 15-20 times ought to be enough.:cool2:

The jogging route around the Epcot area resorts is nice. I would also recommend going to Wilderness Lodge and taking the path to Ft. Wilderness....we haven't done that one yet but it's supposed to be very pretty!

Don't forget to account for all the walking you'll be doing each day in the parks. It will easily surpass a 5k on a typical park day.

Thanks, but as I said in the title and my posts we aren't doing the parks since this is just a quick pre cruise stay.

Quite right! I guess I always figure that vists to WDW include the parks. :)

SSR, OKW, POR, CBR and CSR are all great places to walk. I also enjoy the walk between DHS and Epcot but for your non park trip that might not be ideal.

We did a non park stay before our cruise and I enjoyed walking that trip!

There was rumor once several years ago about expanding the walking path at POR all the way to the Market Place but I don't think it ever happened. It sure would be nice if Disney did expand it. Round trip would have to be close to 3 miles, down one side (POFQ, OKW) around the lake and back up the other side (SSR). :thumbsup2

Going around Crescent Lake at the Epcot resorts is nice early in the morning. I'm pretty sure its just shy of 1 mile once around. Great scenery and lots of company.

According to my ped, the run from the back door of the Swan, around to YC/BC to the Boardwalk to DHS and back was 1.4 miles, but I did take the long way around by the Dolphin and you weave in and out and then to YC and some alcoves. I don't know if that helps, but its a very relaxing run.

We stay at the Epcot resorts and go running in the morning there. If you go around the Boardwalk it is .8, the path to the Studios is .6 each way. This past trip I started at the BC past the YC over the bridge and then took the path to the Studios, started back and at the underpass went up and over following the along the road on the sidewalk, when I got to the light by S/D and Fantasia Mini Golf, took the right turn and went in front of the S/D, at the walkway between the two I turned there went back over the bridge to the Boardwalk and finished the loop of the Boardwalk and it came it just under 3 miles. Its a really nice area to run/walk around since it isn't the same thing over and over.
