Where is the best place to stay in December?

Hi everyone:

My family and I are going to Diseny the first week of Dec. Right now we have reservations at SSR. I want to be at the resort with the best travel time to and from the resorts. We will be utilizing disney's travel system and don't want to waste time waiting for transportation. We will probably be spending most of our time at MK, but will be traveling to the other parks as well. We stayed at Pop Century last year and never had to wait more than 5 to 10 minutes. It was really enjoyable. Now that were are DVC owners which resort is the best for transportation.

MK is only a quick boat ride from VWL, and I've always found the buses to be good from there as well. You can also take a boat to the CR, to the monorail and go visit the monorail resorts and their wonderful holiday decorations. Last year we stayed at BWV for our December trip and they also have wonderful decorations and you can't really beat the convenience to Epcot and MGM. However, there has not been too much comment on things now, but for awhile people really complained about bus service from BWV and to a lesser extent BCV to MK.

My choice this year is the VWL, but I have no complaints about BWV for Christmas either. There was plenty of holiday entertainment around the hotel and boardwalk area.

My December choice is always BWV or BCV. There's nothing like a stroll around the Boardwalk in December, listening to the Christmas music, seeing the garland-wrapped lights, and seeing the poinsetta Christmas tree in the Village Green. Also, Epcot is definitely where the most is happening for Christmas events, as far as I'm concerned-the holiday storytellers, tree-lighting ceremony with characters, CP, Holiday-themed Illuminations. And you can also get to MGM for the Osborne lights relatively easily. Ah, yes-December on the Boardwalk-can't wait to be there!

You should be okay at SSR. Most buses come in 5-10 minutes durning the early part of the day, but a bit less often mid afternoon. I am one of those who think Disney transportation works VERY well unless you are trying to go between resorts in the evening.

I'm staying offsite but I don't think there really is a bad place to stay during December. I like my offsite resort but I have DVC membership also. The best part of December is the Xmas decorations and activities. Enjoy. I'll be there December 10 to the 24th.
