Where is the best place to rent and ride bikes?

In your opinion, where is the best place to rent a bike and go riding? I am thinking probably either WL or FW. Can you rent smaller bikes for young kids? 7yr old DD recently learned to ride on 2 wheels and wants to ride around WDW.

Saratoga Springs. The bike path goes all the way to Old Key West, so there's plenty of pathway to travel. Plus, since it's not fully open yet, the bike paths are pretty empty. If you're renting surrey bikes, though, look elsewhere. The surrey path at SSR is a bit lacking so far.

One other question, do they rent helmets as well?

Yes, they do rent helmets. Under 16 are required to wear them.

We are DVC members and spend a lot of time at VWL and always rent bikes! We have a ds(7) and this is the highlight of his trip! I would reccomend renting the bikes from WL and riding over to FW! They have many bikes to choose from and they do have helmets. There is a very nice path to follow also from WL to FW. Also, once we get to FW my ds always wants to go to the petting zoo and ride a pony! Make sure if you do this you take your camera!
