Where is the best place to get a Christmas tree while staying on property for Christmas ?

Thanks. Now I wonder whether that made a difference, i.e., if you had strung lights on a BWV BW view balcony, would they have been allowed to remain?

My guess is probably….the rules state you are not supposed to do it so it probably depends on enforcement.

It's worth remembering that the first rule in the Disney Guest Services Playbook is "Never say no to a Guest until you absolutely have to." Front line CMs are not about to risk upsetting the wrong guest over something like this unless they are told they have to.

That doesn't change the fact that the Public Offering Statement is pretty clear that you aren't supposed to do it. So, unless you are an "anything not forbidden is permitted" sort of person, this is not something you'd do.

I was going to start a new thread and Disboards altered me that someone else had already asked my question. For those of you getting fake trees from Amazon/Walmart— do you ship them? How long do they take to assemble? I’d like to have a tree (real or fake) that is at least 5’, but my husband will be grinchy if he has to spend more than 30m assembling it.

We were in a grand villa at AKV last year and put up a 7 ft. tree. We were able to pack the tree, lights, ornaments and all extraneous decorations in a large suitcase with room to spare. I had everything streamlined so that it only took about 15 minutes to put up and take down and we enjoyed every minute of it while on holiday. If memory serves me correctly, I even got the tree clearanced about this time of year for $25. Much cheaper than using Disney’s services.

Here are the issues I am thinking with a large, real tree.....
1. Water damage on the floor from the water pan required to keep it alive
2. Sap damage on the floor from the tree
3. The horrible mess of pine needles everywhere
4. The disposal of tree at the end of the trip....no way it should be a mousekeeping problem
5. The fire hazard of a real tree

For the sake of people's safety, our Maintenance Fees, and poor Mousekeeping....please just get a table top version or something fake.

Thank you, this is helpful!

Hello- looking for a real tree - where is the best place to get one for the holidays in Disney ?? We have 4 children and will need a tree for our stay . This is our first time booking on Christmas , we have one ever gone directly before or after the holiday. Want to make our stay feel like we are at home for the kids . We are flying and there’s just something special about a real tree .
Live trees in transient occupancies (hotel rooms, DVC villas) are in violation of the Florida Fire Protection Code (adopted by Orange County), which is a direct adaptation of the National Fire Protection Code.

They come in smaller boxes , I have never had an artificial tree so I have no idea
Boxes for 6 ft trees are still pretty large. I have several artificial trees of that size and none of their boxes would ever fit in an owner's locker. Maybe if it was a really skinny tree with not much bulk??

Owner's Locker will also store golf bags. I'm not sure if they would store a Christmas tree box, but I'd guess if you bought a cheap golf club travel bag on Amazon for $30-$40 (the outer bags that fit over your actual bag), if it was narrow you could fit the tree box inside, or eliminate the box entirely. John and his crew at Owner's Locker are super cool and VERY accommodating. I'd reach out to them to see if there is a solution.

It's the width / bulk that's the issue for a Christmas tree I would think. Even folded down, a 6ft tree is often 2' x 2' in diameter, so wouldn't fit in a golf bag. I think a better option for the OP would be to get a smaller tree...

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting a full-sized collapsible tree would fit, but possibly a shorter tree, or a skinny tree. Like a pencil tree. Compromises.

A large golf outer travel bag is about 16"x16"x50".

For sure. The poster I had been replying to thought that a 6' tree would fit in an owner's locker, so I was trying to advise that I didn't think that would work. I agree as smaller tree is best.
