Hello- looking for a real tree - where is the best place to get one for the holidays in Disney ?? We have 4 children and will need a tree for our stay . This is our first time booking on Christmas , we have one ever gone directly before or after the holiday. Want to make our stay feel like we are at home for the kids . We are flying and there’s just something special about a real tree .

A small tabletop tree should be fine. However, I'd be wary myself of getting a larger one, not knowing what fire safety regulations might forbid.

I suggest you contact MS to find out if this is permitted.

I am usually a traditionalist with the largest real tree that can be found, but when I had to go 2,500 miles away for work, I decided to go to Disney because I could not do my decorations properly as it takes all of my free time starting in November plus a few works days off.
I did a fake tree and bought one of those lights usually used to project on the outside of homes. I set it up on the counter of my 2 room villa and projected across the room and across the canal. It was awesome. Yes, many people find it tacky but who the %%%%% cares. My family loved it as it made the room so crazy festive!

I’m possibly mistaken, but my understanding is that any holiday lights attached outside your villa or projected outside are not allowed.

Anyone know what is permissible regarding this?

My plans are to just have the decorations inside and use the projector in the villa for lights inside ( not projecting outside ) we usually stay at RIV or OKW- last year at OKW people had lights outside of their rooms and we could see trees in rooms that were lit up, not sure if the outside lights were allowed , I was like oh my gosh I didn’t know people could do that , I thought it was pretty cool. That’s where I’ve gotten the idea about the tree from. Again ours will be inside . Member services couldn’t tell me if real trees were allowed or not , so I think if we don’t get an artificial tree we will just have the small real one from Disney florist delivered and bite the bullet on the cost .

I wasn’t referring to any prior post with my question so hope you didn’t feel I meant anyone posting previously.

Just wondered if anyone knew what’s allowed.

That’s surprising that MS wouldn’t know what’s allowed in terms of fire safety laws. 🤔

we get our Disney Xmas fix early at WDW. A mini tree brightens up the room & helps get us in the holiday mood.

Ive used the same mini 2 ft artificial one for years there. from michaels, less than $20. Festooned with with mini decorations & battery lights.

Never any problem other than remembering to bring AA batteries for the lights

No worries , I was kinda shocked when she didn’t know either - she seemed very unsure .

So, Disney florist delivers a Christmas tree a small one , live and decorated , wouldn’t that be a fire hazard ? I would love a live tree but I just am scared to take a risk without a definite yes or no and I would rather not wait until we get there to figure it out . Amazon has 6ft artificial trees for $60 so I think realistically that’s a better plan anyway and we can just store it in owners locker for years to come

I find the WDW holiday decor beautiful & since both of my home resorts have lobbies w/ soaring spaces I enjoy their multi story Christmas trees. Looks like OP owns at Riviera, so no large tree there w/ that small lobby :(.
The problem w/ flying is that you don’t have enough luggage space to bring all you’ll need to have a real tree of much size - tree stand, lights, ornaments, etc.. That said, Disney florist does a live table top tree which I’ve done, but it’s small & expensive - a bit underwhelming for the price, but I do smile when I hang the ornaments from that tree on my tree at home every year.
Personally I’d just go w/ an Amazon fake tree & whatever lights/decor you want to have delivered & then add to that w/ a souvenir ornament for each person from the Christmas store in DS. Bring the Christmas stockings from home & command strips to hang them.
In the past I‘ve also ordered a fresh winter type bouquet (preferably w/ pine boughs) to be delivered from a local florist because I enjoy that Christmas smell w/ mixed success - depending on whether they’ve added pine 😂.

One year I had a real tree (tabletop size) shipped from Harry & David to my resort. It was decorated and had lights. I don't remember the cost - it was pricy but I don't know if it was more expensive than Disney's price for a similar tree.

Will a six foot tree fit in an Owner's Locker? Does it fold down? Do the branches come off? I'm trying to picture it.

I have put Christmas lights on my balcony the last two years as did just about everyone else in the building.

I've seen people hang lights, but the DVC agreement forbids it. For example, the OKW Condominium Rules and Regulations include clause 8:

Exterior Appearance. No Owner shall decorate or alter any part of a Unit or a Vacation Home so as to affect the appearance of a Unit or a Vacation Home from the exterior. Such decoration or alteration shall include, but not be limited to, painting or illumination of the exterior of a Unit or a Vacation Home, display of plants or other objects upon balconies or railings or exterior window sills or ledges, reflective film or other window treatments, draperies, window shades, screen doors and lights. The Association shall have the sole discretion, which may be based on aesthetic principles only, to determine compliance with this provision

My lights were projected inside the villa. But I did string lights on the balcony like everyone else in the building.
