Where is the best "cane fishing" for little kids WL or POR?

I think my two 4 year olds would love to try out fishing when we go in Sept. Does anyone recommend either WL or POR over the other? Also, what do they use as bait? I am a little squimish and I hope it isn't worms, although I guess I could get over it. I am hoping for hotdogs or something like that.

When is the best time to get there? I think I remember reading that someplace they take a picture of the kids with their catch? Anyone know about that?

Thanks. :flower:

We love to fish in the pond at Fort Wilderness! We've used hot dogs and bacon! :p

How does it work? Do you rent the cane poles from someplace at WL and then use your own bait or do they provide some bait? Where exactly do you fish at WL. I remember seeing a ton of fish there when we were waiting for the boat to come.

Well, I'm not sure how it works at WL, but at Fort Wilderness they rent poles in the bike barn. We catch crappies and sunfish (I think they actually call them Bream). They're huge!

Remember, it's all catch & release! :sunny:

I don't think WL has cane pole fishing. When we stayed there in Sept. my DH had to take DS to Fort Wilderness for the cane pole fishing. I think they have it at CSR also.
