Where is best spot to watch EWP and Wishes without being in MK?

We have a day off booked into our touring plan, but would like to keep options open for a relaxed viewing of Wishes (we will see Hallowishes on our MNSSHP night, but won't be spending another evening in MK) and perhaps even catch the EWP as well. I've heard of spots at FW, the Contemporary and the Polynesian, but with this being our first WDW visit, the names don't really mean much. We are staying at the AoA, and will be commuting via disney bus from either there or DTD. Which resort/viewing spot would be good for both events, and how close together do they show? Wishes is scheduled for 9pm, so would the EWP be before or after wishes?

My favorite spot for watching the fireworks and EWP is on the beach at the Polynesian. My second favorite spot is at the Contemporary on exterior/outside stairwells facing MK.
