That sucks, doesn't it? Student loans due and she didn't get to FINISH yet! I guess Disney just offered the red gowns since we associate "red" with Mickey and Minnie! I'm going to have to start working on quilts after graduation so I stay off the computer and away from the temptation! The girls HAD to go shopping today...Allie didn't have anything to wear under her gown at graduation. She honestly didn't have a dress in her closet since we "skipped" Easter this year...plus the fact that she didn't need to have dresses for any spring banquets and awards shows! Katie and her friend Audrey tagged along with Allie and her friend, Amanda, and all 4 of them came home with 2 outfits!
No idea Something to keep food hot? Lights? Is it something in the club level food area?
She went with her adviser to one of the animal shelters where she does surgeries on Tuesday to get some "surgical assisting" checked off. She went to the barns and clinic on campus today to get some essential skills and dental work done. She is waiting on her adviser to let her know if she has everything "checked off" she is also waiting for the animal hospital where she did her internship to send her adviser her performance evaluation which was supposed to be sent two months ago. Just waiting to hear. Then she can get her diploma which I guess will be mailed. Once she has her diploma she can apply to take the VTNE test. Once she takes the test and passes she can apply for jobs. Still no word yet on a ceremony date.
Oh and get this. So my lovely coworker and I are supposed to work every other day. I worked today. By myself. Luckily the head of maintenance was there to let me in the office. Matt came in for about 10 minutes, I think just to tell me You're in Tuesday right? So I said well since I worked today and Monday is a holiday shouldn't Laura be in on Tuesday and I come in on Wednesday? Every other day right? Matt says No that's not how it works, you worked Mon, Wed and Fri this week so you work Tues and Thurs next week. OK so Laura gets to skip a day and gets a 5 DAY WEEKEND How is that working every other day. Sure no problem. I think I'll be using the rest of my personal days.
It's the lights over the table! Very "different" but I really did like the decor a lot more than I thought I would! Looking at the BLT pictures, I almost wish Sara wouldn't "play" with our 2021 reservations and just leave us there but I do understand she'd like to "save" a little in points so either way, not going to complain!
I ABSOLUTELY love lilacs! Oh my goodness, I can almost "smell" them! They are beautiful! Glad your azaleas are finally producing some buds...maybe SPRING has actually "sprung" for you!
I love the Space Mountain picture.
I love lilacs too. Love the smell. I just wish they would stay in bloom longer than a few days.
OF COURSE that's the "logic" they'd use to give Laura that extra day off! What did you do all day all by yourself? You should be officially starting "summer vacation" soon, shouldn't you? The Administration here has "officially" declared "school's out" for our kids ; the kids had to clean out their lockers this week. They're having an "official" School's Ending Parade on Tuesday preceded by the "Prom Parade". Since a "real prom" couldn't be arranged, they're asking the kids to dress up and "parade". They've given it a "tropical theme" so the local flower shop is making real leis; the boys are wearing Hawaiian shirts instead of a tux and the girls are getting their hair done and wearing their prom dresses..IF IT DOESN'T RAIN! 🌧🌧🌧 Along with EVERYTHING ELSE this senior class has had to deal with we now have rain predicted E-V-E-R-Y single day next week...including FRIDAY when graduation is scheduled! There's a possible tropical disturbance developing in the Gulf!
Hooray on Stephanie getting some surgeries done! And WHY hasn't the animal hospital she interned at sent in the evaluation yet??? GEE...I realize it's been a crazy couple of months but she finished that in January, didn't she? So she has to have the diploma "in hand" before she can take the test? I'd want to go pick that sucker up instead of having it delivered in the mail! Sorry Ed but I don't trust the mail service! One of Allie's posters sat in our Post Office for 5 DAYS before they delivered it to our front door. Snapfish showed it "delivered to Bellville PO" so I knew it was "delivered" when it was suppose to be except the mail carrier chose not to bring it on her route! HOPEFULLY the college will have a ceremony sometime during the summer! It looks like most of our colleges are going ahead with plans to open for the fall semester. Howard Payne is actually looking at giving each dorm student a room of their own but they'd still have to share a bathroom with 1 other person...which is better than sharing with THREE others. They prefer to have all freshman, even local students, stay in the dorms the first 2 years but are asking locals and those within driving distance to just come to classes for the time being. No final word yet but that's the direction they're taking. At least Stephanie shouldn't have to much trouble finding a job since Vet Clinics are deemed "essential" and haven't had to close. Hope so anyway! I've read it's been really hard for college graduates; so many have seen their job offers or internships disappear. ☹
No "bells ringing" so I'll start with the MK.
Today was so boring. I streamed the radio on my computer and played on my phone and did a little bit of work. I have no idea when my last day is. The last official day of school is June 2. I'm guessing I'll have to work after that but the SAU mentioned that June 2 was the last day for ALL staff and that's when pay stops so hoping that's my last day, I've had enough. Monday June 1 I'm taking a personal day or calling in sick if I'm not allowed to use a personal day.
Steph can't apply for the exam without her diploma because she has to give them a copy of her diploma and transcript. I think they are looking at fall for the ceremony.
Love the idea of a prom parade. It's so disappointing they can't have a real prom. Hope it doesn't rain and hope it doesn't rain on graduation day. If they have to put one in a dorm room, that will really limit the number of students on campus. I was reading some of the guidelines they are talking about for opening schools in the fall. Most of the stuff is not physically possible. There is not enough classrooms to limit the number of students/desks in each one all six feet apart and you can't keep kids with the same teacher all day in middle and high school. They have different teachers for different subjects. Masks on everyone all day and taking all temperatures when they enter building. If anyone has a fever they have to be sent home. One student in a seat on the bus and skip a seat in between. Right now there are three in a seat and all the seats are filled. It's going to be a nightmare. I really hope this changes. Colleges were opening for classes in the fall but still discussing how things were going to work.
