Four of them ; 2 pair socks; turtleneck sweater; hooded heavy sweatshirt; LONG JOHNS; heavy pants; stretchy cap I haven't worn in 10 years; wool scarf; heavy coat and pair of gloves...thank goodness the lady sitting in front of us (new soccer Mom) had extra hand warmers or MY hands would have been in the same shape Redstorm's was! I was "comfortable" except for my hands and feet started getting cold toward the end of the game. Auto started the car as the whistle blew and it was nice and toasty when we climbed in!

WE MADE IT...

Not sure about Redstorm though ...started out okay...

About 20 minutes after halftime I got a little concerned when I saw this...

...and got REALLY worried when I saw THIS...

Coach finally took her out...frostbite setting in in her hands.

We had hand warmers in the stands and got mine to her and her teammates put coats over her on the bench until the game ended. She went directly home with DD and SIL and they gradually warmed her up. She says she okay and snuggled under her blankets now. We have GOT to get her some better gloves but HOPING this is the only game this year that will be so dang cold. Tournament this weekend with temps that SHOULD be in high 50's/low 60's.

Well this morning was warmer, it was -7. Temps are up in the 20's now. Heat wave. Big snow storm coming tomorrow blizzard conditions on the coast and they say Friday will be the coldest day of the week.

Um, is the girl in shorts from Alaska or North Dakota?!?!?

I KNOW...I wanted to go down on the field and tell her to get some leggings on! The soccer team doesn't have "uniform issued cold weather gear"...these temperatures are WAY below normal for us. She's a freshman and I'm guessing she just didn't know any better; probably hesitant to wear "non-uniform clothing" and our coach is a little on the "ditzy" side ...she most likely didn't TELL the girls they were free to wear ANYTHING they needed to to stay warm! Poor thing...she had to be a "popsicle" by the end of the game! Heck..our sports newspaper editor chose to go to the INDOOR basketball game instead of the OUTSIDE soccer game last night! I told him he should be ashamed of himself ...those girls were tough enough to play the game and he was in the comfortable HEATED gym watching a bunch of boys run around chasing a ball.

OMG...unbelievable. Watched Weather Channel this morning and see the storm developing for you! Our cloud cover cleared around midnight and temperature dropped like a rock. Low of 22-23 this morning and the ground cover in my front flower bead is TOTALLY FROZEN! We haven't had temperatures this low in 6 years! I sure hope it doesn't get as cold in Florida...we may not have orange juice if the orange groves have freeze damage! Guess you'll be battling snowdrifts AGAIN this weekend...and we should be in the 70's by Sunday .

I answer, "Oh S***...NOW WHAT" Good or bad?"

..."Well...remember we got an extra FP after checking in on the 1st? We tried to use them today and SURPRISE...didn't work. Went to City Hall, explained AGAIN what had happened; they checked...and yes...we were all to have an extra FP for today. Since it didn't work and we had to have it corrected AGAIN...they gave us 3 EXTRA FASTPASSES A DAY FOR OUR ENTIRE TRIP!!!"

I read on USA Today that it was 48 degrees in Anchorage Alaska yesterday. So apparently, it's warmer there!

I think we are having a warmer than usually winter. It got up to 33 today. It has been in the single digits at night but that's normal. Sometimes it gets below freezing here but not this year.
