Welcome to the 96th Annual Austin County Fair, one of the oldest county fairs in Texas. Today was Senior Citizen's day, so we took advantage of the $3.00 admission (not the $20 admission on other days) and enjoyed the free lunch served to Austin County "senior citizens"

in appreciation of "all the time and money we've spent
at the fair over the years"! THAT'S the truth!

When the girls were little, Sara always said it was cheaper for them to go to Disney World during Fair Week than it was to take them every night to the fair!

Had 4-5 trips during that week for the Halloween festivities back then! Started with rain this morning so a very messy day but sure enjoyed visiting with friends again and spent way to much money purchasing some of these goodies in the Country Store! Our Austin County citizens sure can bake, preserve and pickle!

Even "spotted" our Thanksgiving Day "dinner"

; we're usually able to purchase a turkey from the 4-H/FFA kiddos "leftovers"...the ones that don't make the big sale tomorrow.
