Definitely did not last long, back to a heat index of 104 today

We definitely dodged a huge bullet with Dorian. It would have been ugly if it came on shore as a 5. Will have close to the same for the index. I will have some ocean breeze to help with the heat.

Y'all were SO BLESSED! We always hate to wish ill on anyone else but I can't imagine the situation had that storm moved into West Palm Beach at a Cat 5; Terri would have "felt that" in middle Florida. The pictures from the Bahamas are heartbreaking. Still can't relax though...few more of those suckers still developing and, unless things have changed, there was at least one that could make it's way into the Gulf. Peak season over the next few weeks. We're in the midst of the hottest week of the year; suppose to break over a 100 year record tomorrow with a high temperature of 102. Right now the temperature is 98 with a heat index of 102 and later today that's suppose to get up to 108 and Ed...there is not a leaf moving on the trees here! In other words..."normal" September weather for Florida and Texas!

It is pretty miserable but you get used to it; WE shiver when we think of your FREEZING temperatures for days on end in the winters! ❄☃🌬 I remember thinking, during soccer season, about you...and Denise and Jeff on those days we were wrapped in blankets and shivering from the cold temperatures!

I will take beautiful, white, clean, quiet snow any day over heat and humidity. To each their own but I'm so glad I found this little piece of paradise up here. Suits me perfectly. It's going to get up to 75 here today.
