online for the best prices? I've found a whole list of places other than the obvios 2 of Amazon & ebay - so I was wondering if any are better?

I always purchased by books at the university bookstore (to help the school out and all), but a lot of my friends got their books from halfpricebooks.com (or something like that). They all seemed to like the service.

Thanks so much.

You must have waaay more money than I to be able to pay those prices! ;) LOL I wonder how much of it actually goes to the school - ya know? My professor & advisor are the 2 that told me to find somewhere online to buy them from...LOL

I ordered 1 book thru Barnes N nobles resellers but its taking FOREVER to get here - but it was only 9.99 - my gf paid 85 for her used one at the bookstore.

I'll check out that other place you mentioned

I have never tried E-bay but I am a amazon pro. I once to buy a Geolog book that was 65 at the school. I found another copy for 25 dollars on amazon.

half.com is ebays textbook seller and I use it religiously!!! I have never had any problems with them. I recommend looking at both half.com and amazon.com because sometimes you can find them cheaper at one or the other. I have used both sites and they work great, alot of time you find the books so much cheaper than the used books at the bookstore. Also make sure when you are using the websites you check the edition, because when new edition books come out the previous additions price dropped dramatically. Good luck!!

HALF.COM is the best site for textbooks HANDS DOWN. One semester I had to buy 10 books. I spent $40 including shipping on half.com. Bookstore would have been at least $250.

But are you talking like textbooks for Disney classes? If you have to buy a book, then you can find it at the Virgin Megastore quick and not that expensive. (The only book for a class that I had seen was "what color is your parachute" but that could have changed)

I too use Half.com for the cheapest textbooks for my school. But I also check other sites to compare prices. I recommend Amazon.com at least.

Put the textbook name into pricegrabber.com and it'll give you a bunch of different sites at once, and you put in your area code and it'll give you the best price including shipping ;]

I will have to try that! but my favs are half.com and amazon. i use them always and i compare to see if its better to just buy from the bookstore or not, and i save hundreds from it! being an english major has its advantages in that alot of the books are cheaper, but in doing so, you have to buy more alot of times, so it adds up quickly.
