It dawned on me last night as I fumble through my ADR plans that I don't know where exactly the "sushi place" is at the Poly. I know it's not O'Hanas. I don't think it's the Kona. But where is it? We've only been to Kona's for b-fast and saw a little coffee place to one side. Is that it?

Yep - that's it!
Kona Island Sushi Bar, just outside of Kona.

I've seen Sushi to go at Captain Cook's but I'm not sure that they still offer it.:wizard:

Yes it's still avalable in their fridge however it's nothing like the Kona Island Sushi Bar, since their Sushi is made fresh each time you order it.

Also another great thing about the Suhsi Bar is you don't need any ADR's and if you want to, they let you also order items from Kona Cafe. So just incase you can not get an ADR there or the wait for a table without one is to long, that's something to keep in mind.

I would love to know how the food is there.. DH and I are always talking about going, but have yet to ,, we will be there in sept after the DVC cruise and are thinking about dinner there thursday or friday

Does anyone happen to know if they serve a veggie option? Like cucumber or avocado rolls?

Is that the place where they do karaoke or is that Kimonos and which place has the better sushi for a first timer?

Kona sushi is limited in scope compared to Kimonos. It's decent, but not outstanding. The friends I had sushi with at Kona sushi bar had eaten at Kimonos and found Kimonos superior.

The nicest thing was that I was able to get an order of the crab cakes appetizer from the Kona Cafe menu. It was fantastic. You can order anything from the Kona dinner menu at the sushi bar area.

If you're on the dining plan, any one of the specialty sushi rolls count as your entree. If you don't want sushi, you could order any Kona entree. You order your dessert from the Kona dessert menu. I specifically asked how the sushi bar takes dining plan credits because people here were asking. :)
